CHAPTER 20 (FINAL)
A fat tear dropped onto the last page, and that was when Ben realised he had cried while reading the book. He wiped it carefully and got up to the board.
He swung it slowly to see her handwriting of some of their conversations before, all re-written nicely on the board.
"How did she manage to remember our conversations all this time?" he mumbled.
He couldn't believe she planned this all. He thought she had forgotten about their anniversary and was pissed at her because of that. That was also the reason why he didn't want to go home right away and ended up in this room.
He then took out his phone and panicked. "Oh shoot, it's almost six."
He immediately packed his things, not forgetting the book, and finally ran out from the school ground.

Eugene was just chilling on her bed, scrolling through her timeline when her brother shouted, "Yo Genie! Your boyfie is here!"
She jolted up and immediately ran towards the front door, shoving her brother away. "Can you not say boyfie? It's cringe!"
"I'll do whatever I want," Kevin retorted as he walked to his room.
"Anyways, Ben! What brings you here?"
"No need to play pretentious anymore, Genie. I read the book."
"Oh thank god! I didn't think I would survive if I pretended for another hour. I didn't know it would be this hurt to see you—"
She couldn't finish her sentence just in time when he suddenly engulfed her in a warm hug.
"Thank you," he said. "For everything."

The very next day, Eugene got up earlier than she usually did on weekends thanks to her brother's loud screaming from downstairs.
"I swear, why are you my brother again?" she complained as she lazily walked downstairs. "It's still 7am, why are you shouting?"
"There's a letter in front of the doorstep for you. Let's see who it's from," Kevin said as he carefully opened the envelope. He released his tension and dropped his brows.
"Oh, it's from your boyfie."
"Oi what did I tell you about calling-"
Eugene's eyes widened and she immediately felt more awake at his words. She quickly stole the envelope off his hands and ran to her room.
"I have a weird sister," he mumbled.
Running back upstairs, she unfolded the letter and was immediately greeted by a familiar handwriting.
Dear Genie,
you know I'm not good with these romantic stuff but here goes!
I remember the time I saw that little 'hi' on the board. I was bored so I decided to write a 'hello' as a reply. Honestly, the thought of getting another reply never crossed my mind but the next day, before walking out of the room, I remembered about those writings and decided to check it again out of curiosity. Without us knowing, it developed into a longer conversation and I enjoyed that. A lot.
Who knew something as small as a 'hi' and 'hello' could tie up us together, right?
Anyways, since we didn't spend a proper time together yesterday, I'll take you out today! Be ready and dress up nicely! I'll pick you up at 10!
*ps. I'll be wearing denim, so in case you wanna go with couple looks, wear denim, okay?
from your beloved,
Benjie <3
