(One day later, Louis PoV)
The Delta base was huge, Louis had to admit that. It was far bigger than Richmond would ever be. The looming shadow of the city covered their backs, the little group was grateful for the little help they got, it wouldn't have been that easy to sneak up to the walls that quickly. Louis turned around to see Tripp next to two other men, all dressed in black like he was.
"So, what's the plan?", he asked quietly, his eyebrow raised in interest.
"See that little side entrance there?", Tripp responded and pointed towards a small, not well guarded door.
"Yeah well, it's kinda hard to miss...", the boy commented and took a look towards the gate with a night-vision camera.
-This is so cool, Clem would love it!-, he thought for a second and regretted it immediately. The thought of Clem not being with him hurt like a stab wound but it would have hurt even more if he didn't know that she was in safety. Javier had ordered all possible forces to Savannah and all the others back to Richmond, including Clementine.
"At least she and our kid will be safe.", he murmured to himself, Tripp didn't fail to her that quiet sentence.
"Don't worry, we'll get those bastards in no time and I will get you back safe and sound."
Louis raised his eyebrow again and lowered the camera.
"Did she tell you to do so?"
The man chuckled and patted him on the shoulder, his strength nearly knocked Louis onto the muddy ground.
"Women are all the same, you know?", he asked with a big smile on his face.
"No they are not, Clem is something special!", Louis exclaimed in disagreement, his voice was a little higher than normal while saying this.
"I know, I know, forget I said that.", the person opposite claimed and shook his head. After a few more seconds of angry glaring the teenager raised the enhancers again and watched the entrance, it was lighted in bright green light due to the optics. There were only few men standing guard but all of them were heavily armed, a machine gun was mounted on top of the wall above the small entrance.
"Well guys, they've got some heavy guns there... But the upside is that there are literally only three men so we need to play out our number.", he told the others and grabbed his pistol which got equipped with a suppressor for just this mission.
Tripp and the other two men nodded silently and raised their weapons as well.
"I take the one on top, I'm trained in shooting targets which are hard to hit.", one of the men whispered, earning another grim nod from his companions.
Louis pointed towards the man standing on the right of the door and then himself.
"I take out this one and you the other?", he asked the man in charge.
He nodded and signalized them to move out, they took individual ways. Louis wandered off to the right and concentrated on not making any noise, the mud screeched every time he put down his foot.
His eyes fixed on the soldier he intended to kill, he was only twenty meters away now and the teen had a clear shot. He knelt down onto one knee and took aim, waiting for a signal to shoot. The signal came in form of a bullet, the low hissing projectile hit the gunner on the wall in the head, his blood and pieces of brain fell down between his comrades. Before they could react react though, both Louis and Tripp pulled the trigger. The gun in his hand rocked backwards as the bullet flew out, it hit his target with a wet sound, piercing the mans neck and his artery.
Louis had never enjoyed killing but this had to be done. Even though he tried to stay hard it was still a cruel scene, the soldier holding his bleeding neck and gurgling for help before slouching over and succumbing to his wound.
He shrugged off the image and moved forward, his feet carried him to the outside of the wall where he joined the others.
"Good shot there...I don't even know your name, sorry.", Louis said, his face was plastered with a grin.
"Name's Clint and no, I'm not Barnes, I heard what happened to you.", the soldier replied, his voice was deep but smooth.
"I sure hope so! Well anyways nice shot back there."
Clint nodded and sneaked up to the small maintenance door, his hands gripped the handle and pushed it down. A loud click made the four flinch, the entrance was locked tight. The missions leader stepped forward and pulled out his knife, the cold metal blade was coated in black paint, it seemed to absorb the darkness around them.
Tripp fumbled around at the door until they heard a loud crack, indicating that he had succeeded in opening it. It swung back and revealed a big open space with not much lighting, a row of tents was standing close nearby.
Louis pointed at them and raised his hands in question if they should use the cover. The three men signalized him to stay back and ran across the open space, Louis on their heels.
