~ sneak peek 1~

We reach outside my door, Alexis pushes it open and halts in his steps as he reaches the kitchen.

"Mother, what are you doing here?" Alexis asks clearly stunned. I tugg Alexis as he puts me down, I stare at his Mother sat on my bar stools a Vogue magazine in her hand. She sticks out like a sore thumb with all her fancy clothing and elegance.

"Oh dear, I should be the one asking you?" She critically analyses me, scrunching her nose at me in disgust. "What are you doing here, Alexis?"

When Alexsis doesn't answer, staring at his  Mother as if trying to figure something out, she turns to me. "Didn't Alexis tell you Liana? He should currently be finalizing his marriage to his betrothed not be here playing fireman Sam with his employee."

She looks at me, piercing me with her ice cold gaze. "As for you!" She points her long finger at me. "Stay away from my son and get me those files. I am growing impatient." She complains, gritting her teeth. "Or have you forgotten what I am capable of."

"Do you think stalling this will make me go easier on him?" She rhetorically asks. "I will kill the both of you before you even know it."

"You don't deserve this!" He shouted, in frustration breathing heavily. I rest my hand on his shoulder, calming him, "You deserve so much better," He says with exhaust. I've never seen him like this, so tired, weak and helpless.

I gulped, "Alexis, I want to be your wife." I breathed. Alexis breathed in sharply, his eyes clouding with mist.

"I want to be your soulmate." I continued.

"Your other half."

"Your everything."

I get up to sit on his lap, as I circle my arms around his neck flicking the towel to the bed. The tip of my fingers touch his hair teasingly. I reach his lips, just an inch away. "I want to be with you forever."

I move forward so our lips are touching. "I want us to be one."

I make coffee for me and Alexis. Handing it to him once he's done, "What now?" I ask, blowing on my cup.

He raises his eyebrows, "What do you mean?"

"For Zackary? The proposal?"

He nods, taking a sip of the warm coffee, "I'm going to try and find out who's offering protection to Zackary and as for the Arnolds, I have a plan." He smirks smugly, "And I need you to help me!"

He starts tracing his finger across my cheekbone, "We're going to put on a show, for my parents, Arnold and his daughter and Zackary. All at one time, in one place."
