Finales and Futures

A/N: Hi guys, I know it's been over a year LMAO, but I honestly didn't realize how many people had read this and wanted it to be continued. So in the spirit of not letting you all down, I will continue this and maybe write some new stuff later. But for this story, please leave me comments on whether you'd like it to be short and fluffy or long and angsty (it could go either way after this part). Hope you enjoy this (short) update!

Years had flown by for the cast of Stranger Things. They had started the show as kids and were now young adults who had matured, grown, and lived some of their most memorable years together. Pretty soon it was the last episode and emotions on set were running high. 

Noah: Has it really been 5 seasons already? It feels like I was just getting lost in the Upside Down.

Millie: Noah, I'll flip you upside down if you mention anything sad today, we can be sad tomorrow but I don't want us to remember our last day of filming with frowns on our faces.

Gaten: Millie's right guys! We've shared way more laughs and smiles than tears, so let's celebrate after the shoot today okay?

Finn and Sadie gave each other bright smiles.

Sadie: Ready for the big finale?

Finn, letting out a breath of air: Ready as I'll ever be. Are you sure you're okay with this? I can still talk to the directors...

Sadie, nudging him: Stop Finn! You know I'm completely fine with this. We're both friends with Millie and it's just acting. We have to be professionals.

The final scene of the episode was supposed to Mike and Eleven's wedding. They were to exchange vows after Hopper walked El down the aisle to a crying Mike, as Will, Dustin, and Lucas stood next to him as groomsmen. Sadie's character of course was the maid of honor. After the officiant declared them married, they were going to kiss and that would be the end. Why wouldn't Sadie be okay with it? There had been several other scenes like this throughout the series but Finn and Sadie knew it was just acting and part of fanservice. Why would Finn even ask that?

As the set for the wedding venue was getting its final touches, the actors all went to their respective stylists to change. Sadie couldn't help but notice how handsome Finn looked in his tuxedo. She smiled as hints of wrist and ankles peeked out from underneath his sleeves and pants. That boy was too tall for his own good. They all got into their positions and waited for Millie. It was obvious when she appeared because the whole set fell silence and all eyes were on her. To say she looked stunning would be an understatement. She was glowing and the reflection of her beautiful white lace gown made her even more radiant. She had light natural makeup on complete with a flower crown. She looked more like an angel than a bride, if it weren't for her form fitting dress. Sadie looked over at Finn who hadn't moved his eyes away from Millie. As the filming began, Sadie became more and more uncomfortable. 

Why had he been looking at her like that? Although she never doubted either Finn or Millie for a second, their constant fanservice as Mileven over the years all came flooding back to her. Why wouldn't he like Millie? She was tall, funny, beautiful, smart. She was way more popular than Sadie. As Mike and Eleven exchanged their vows, Sadie held her breath. Next was the kiss. 

Sadie realized she hadn't been smiling as she was supposed to for the scene and the last thing she wanted was to refilm this all over again so she fought back tears and plastered a smile on her face. Finn held eye contact with Millie for a while, before reaching out to caress her cheek. He leaned in, whispered "I love you" and kissed her. Millie's hand came to rest on top of his as she deepend the kiss after whispering a rushed "I love you too." The whole set erupted in applause. 

Sadie knew the kiss wasn't scripted, after all how could you robotically instruct two people to go through something as emotional as that, and it was pretty routine for professional actors to be this passionate in such scenes. But Sadie couldn't help but keep replaying how Finn's eyes sparkled when he first saw Millie and how he hadn't broken eye contact with her once. After wrap up, she excused herself to her room and flopped on to her bed. 

Meanwhile Finn texts her, Sadie? Where did you go? We're all going out for ice cream. Millie's treating us, do you want me to come pick you up?

Sadie brushed back tears, quickly replying. No you go ahead, Finn. I'm not feeling too well. Tell the others I'll make it up to them later. 

Finn scrunched his nose after reading that reply. Not feeling well? She had seemed fine just earlier. But he also didn't want to be pushy and knew that if Sadie didn't want to come there must be a good reason. He responded, Okay I'll come see you when we're back. Feel better!

Sadie sighed at his response. She knew she was being irrational. No way did Finn have any feelings for Millie, right? They were just friends? Mileven and Fillie were two different things. So why was she feeling so insecure now? But then the answer came to her. 

The future. 

Finn and Sadie had never discussed what would happen to them after the show. For the past few years they had all lived in the same studio building, close enough to each other where they could meet every day. But after filming wrapped, Finn had mentioned he wanted to move out Hollywood and try his hand at movies, but Sadie had wanted to take a break from acting and return to her passion for gardening and farming. Would they just drift apart? Everyone knew long distance wouldn't work for too long. And maybe Millie was the cause of her insecurity because like Finn, she also wanted to move out West and audition for more films. 

With all these thoughts swirling in her head, she drifted off to sleep.
