Maria blinked, finding herself in inky darkness. "Wh-Where am I?"
The sound of roaring echoed across the landscape. "WHERE IS IT?! WHO STOLE IT?!"
She looked around in fear. "Wh-Who said that?!"
Suddenly the darkness exploded into fiery red light as the sound of crashing thundered around her. "WHERE IS IT?!"
She cried out as fissures began breaking underneath her feet and she fell deep into a flaming crevice-
"Maria!"
She bolted awake, looking around in fear. "Who?! What?! Where?!"
She found herself on a giant bed with plush covers, a fluffy pillow under her head and a little handmade quilt resting on top of her. Sitting next to her was Johnny and Tony, both looking at her in concern.
"Maria, are you okay?!" Johnny asked, moving his hands from her shoulders.
She quickly looked around. "I-I-I think so...?"
Tony frowned. His eyes were solid red now, the only things completely visible about him. "A̸r̴e̵ ̷y̴o̷u̸ ̴o̵k̸a̸y̶?̵ ̸"
She nodded slowly. "Y-Yeah... I-I-I'm fine... I-I had the weirdest dream..."
"W̵h̷a̴t̷ ̶w̵a̴s̴ ̶t̴h̶e̵ ̵d̷r̴e̵a̴m̸ ̷a̵b̴o̴u̵t̵?̷"
She bit her lip. "Th-There was this man... H-H-He was screaming about someone stealing something..."
Tony solidified. "Who was the guy?"
"I-I don't know... all I know w-w-was he was a man a-a-and r-r-really upset he l-lost the... the thing..."
Johnny glanced at Tony. "Do you think it was a psychic link?"
Tony shook his head. "If it was, I would've sensed it."
Maria rubbed her head. "I-I-I didn't scream, did I?"
"No, you didn't."
The sound of knocking came from the front door of Johnny's house.
Johnny frowned, looking at the clock. "Who on Earth-?"
Maria rubbed her head. "How early is it?"
"Not even one in the morning," Tony mumbled. "Who could be calling in at this hour?"
Johnny walked out the hall towards the door. After a minute of silence, his voice came back shaky. "Um... guys?"
Maria and Tony immediately ran out the door.
Standing in the living room were ten men all dressed in black with dark shades hiding their eyes. "Mr.-s Brown and Johnson and Ms. Robinson?" one of the officials said.
"Y-Y-Yes...?" Maria whispered.
"You all are under arrest."
"What?!"
Tony stepped in front of Maria. "What are you all saying?!"
The official took off his shades, revealing surprisingly bright green eyes. "You are under arrest for the theft of Ms. Susanne Williams' priceless golden trident statue."
Johnny paled. "What?! We never stole anything!"
"Then you won't mind if we search your backpacks and suitcases?"
"Go ahead!"
The officials split up and began searching their bags.
Maria bit her lip, then closed her eyes. "Tony, can you help me?"
