CHAPTER FIVE

So it was settled then. Hannah and Hugh went to live in the pack house  of her mate's pack. Maximus or Max, as he would like to be called, agreed in my condition that he and Hannah should try to know each other a little bit first before moving in together.

And I... am back into my wolf huntress scheme again. Waiting for a potential task to take.  The sun has already set today, and at nightfall, I went to a famous rogue hangout, a bar of some sort. This was a usual place for humans or other wolves who seek for help from rogues, specifically to do illegal things.

The lights were dimmed and the music playing was not ear-piercing. It was alright. I went to the bar and nodded at the bartender, Henry, ordered some vodka and had it brought to my usual table. It was at the far corner where I can just about observe everyone.

I had a reputation of being perfect at my ummm... profession so all I had to do is wait for clients. If there were first time clients, they would usually ask the bouncers or the bartenders. Of course, they would suggest someone depending on how much they are willing to pay, what to do exactly, which pack and etc.

"Well hello dear Freya, its been quite a while." I heard someone greet me. I looked a bit up and had trouble knowing who it was. He rudely invited himself to sit down on my table and mockingly smirked at me.

"Oh Reyes, quite a while indeed." I greeted back at him. Reyes, or known as 'Blackout', is one of my competitive rivals in being a hireling rogue doing menial tasks. He had the mysterious, bad boy vibe around him. Raven black hair, deep black eyes, and always wearing black clothes. It really isn't that hard to figure out why he had that name.

Rogues usually call each other by the name or title they've made for themselves. He  was one of the few friends or more like colleagues that I had when I was just starting as  the Wolf Huntress, since he didn't degrade me just because I was the opposite gender. He is particularly skilled at getting into a pack without them noticing him as a rogue, always changing his appearance.

We got in a conversation. Asking each other about our tasks or errands since its all we can talk about really. As rogues, we know to never trust another rogue, keep everything that personal to yourself.

"How's your cousin, ummm, Kai is it?" I asked Reyes about the only family he has that I know about. Family is a personal matter to each one of us, but Kai here, his little cousin is part of our rapacious activities. Also known as Omega, Kai picked the name for himself because people always underestimated his role as Reyes's  silent, tech-savvy partner as is the actual standing of a omega in a pack.

"Yeah, Kai, he's been good you know, we've been staying in a city not far from here for a while now. Been laying low since our last disastrous task from Verlac Pack. We kinda got almost caught. " Reyes said so and the pack sounded familiar to me. But what shocked me was the fact that they almost got caught.

"What?! You guys almost got caught!? What happened?" Seriously, these guys are great at what they do. Reyes can easily blend in and Kai is great at hacking and making Reyes look different.

"Their stupid gamma had suspicions and later then caught us. Good thing we got away though. I ummm, got rid of him for a while, hid him a little bit outside their territory, got our info, then went on our way." He explained and I just nodded. Silence enveloping our surroundings after that.

"Excuse me..." Someone cleared their throat to get our attention and we saw that it was a guy in a suit with three bodyguard looking guys behind me.
