This Is It

Chapter 2

We finally arrived to school after 20 minutes of driving. I unbuckled my seat belt and opened the door. I stepped out, went to the backseat and grabbed my book bag and put my purse over my shoulder. Mason and I walked side by side and as we hit the school doors, he linked our fingers.

Once we got in the school, we went straight to my locker. His was about 10 lockers down from mine so he went to his to put his stuff away. As I was putting my bag in my locker, I heard someone scream my name really loud. I turned to see who it was and it was my best friend Stephanie. I haven't seen her all summer. Her parents let her go on a vacation to Australia.

"SHAIDEN!!" She ran up to me and we gave each other a big hug. "Oh my God! I've miss you so much and I have so much to tell you!" She sounded so enthusiastic.

"Okay Okay" I laughed at how excited she was.

"What's up?" I asked her and then Mason came up to me and kissed my cheek. Stephanie gave a dirty look to him. She has never liked him and I never knew why she would never tell me.

"It can wait." She said and her smile kind of faded. Well ok then.

"Are you sure?" I asked and she nodded. The bell rang indicating that it was time for first period to start. I have English first with Stephanie. Thank God she's in my class. We walked to class together as Mason went to his class. Finally we got to our class.

"Mr. Lee. Alright this is our class and this isn't going to be fun." She said as she looked at me and I laughed and nodded in agreement.

"Just make sure you do your work Stephanie" she looked at me like she was offended. Me and her were complete opposites. She was so outgoing and always spoke her mind. Sometimes it was really funny when she did but other times it didn't end too Well. But I've always admired her ability to say What's on her mind.

We took our seats and the teacher walked in. He was short, chubby and wore glasses but I heard he was a good teacher so I'm ok with having him. I hope this class isn't too hard. "Good morning class." He interrupted my thoughts by speaking. You could hear the class murmur 'good morning' back to him.

"So I'm excited to be teaching this year" he began. "First let me tell you a little about myself." He continued to talk but I got lost in my thoughts. I started thinking about Mason which always made me smile. He was just the best boyfriend in the world I don't know why Stephanie hates him so much.

"Miss. Jones." Mr. Lee called. I guess he was calling role.

"Here." I raised my hand.

"You aren't going to doze off everyday are you miss Jones?" I shook my head no hoping he would move on. "Good."

Before I knew it the bell rang and it was time to head to second period. Great I have science. I've never been too good at science. I mean I'm not really bad at it. Like I've never failed it but I've never had an A either. I got to my class and walked in. I was the first one in there so I got to pick the seat I want. I chose the seat in the far back. The room started filling up with kids. Some I knew some I didn't. A girl I've known since like 8th grade sat beside me. Her name was Rebecca. I hated her but was Nice anyway. She was just to preppy for me and guess What? She was the head cheerleader.

"Oh my goodness. Shaiden? Hey! How are you doing? Lord you have gotten so pretty since I've last seen you!" She said to me with that fake smile she has. So was she saying I was ugly before?

"Hey Rebecca." I replied not enthused at all. Honestly I don't even Care anymore. She smiles then started talking to someone else.

The bell rang and that meant class was starting. The teacher came in. It was a female and her name was Mrs. Morrison. She looked really mean.

"Okay class. Let's start going over all of the rules." She pulled up a 20 slide powerpoint. Wow why so many slides? I sat there and listened to all of her rules. There had to be at least 25. She then started calling role.

"Mr. Adams, Miss Barnes... Miss Jones" she finally got to my name and I raised my hand indicating that I was there. "Mr. Styles" she continued and with that name nobody responded. Why have I never heard of someone with the last name styles? Maybe he's new. O Well. After she was done calling role she handed out a sheet with project requirements. Wow she's already assigning a project on the first day.

"For this project you will be working in partners that I will be assigning. It is dues right after  Christmas break that way they can be done before final testing. Everybody understand?" She asked and Everyone nodded. She started calling out partners then finally said my name. She said I was working with Harry Styles whoever that is but he's not here so I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Finally the bell rang and it is now lunch time.

I meet up with Stephanie and we walk to lunch together. We walked in the cafeteria and I saw Mason sitting at the table motioning for us to come over so we did.

"Hey babe" he smiled and kissed my cheek. I smiled and sat down beside him and Stephanie sat on the other side as me.

"So how is your day so far?" I asked him.

"Pretty good I guess. I miss having you in my classes." He said and I nodded in agreement. I told him how I already have a science project to do and told him I had to work with this Harry guy. He got a little upset when I said I'd be working with another guy, but it's just a project. We talked the entire lunch period then the bell rang for third period. I went there and then fourth. Finally it was the end of the day and now time to go home.
