Chapter 10

Reegan sat there, holding our son like he was the most delicate thing in the world. I loved the little guy so much it hurt, and I knew that Reegan did as well. Her stomach had started showing emmencly since she announced she was pregnant with our daughter.

Seven months had gone by so quick and Mat was getting more restless to see his sister. It was overwhelming for both of us. He would pat on Reegan's stomach, pleading his little sister to get out. Reegan would just laugh at him and let him keep patting her stomach.

I loved them both to pieces, but yet there seemed to be something missing in my life. I didn't feel love for Reegan like I did for...

Oh my God.

I ran down the streets in a rush, running to Jerome's house quickly. I pounded on his door as soon as I arrived, out of breath and losing my balance. He opens it with hesitation and I looked at him with tears slipping down my face.

"Mitch!" he said surprised. He looked at me and pulled me in the house.

"What happened?" he asked, helping me to the couch, as I was still out of breath. He rubbed my back as I panted, holding my chest from the hard run here.

When I caught my breath, I looked to Jerome. I was going to do this. I had to see if I was in love with him.

I leaned forward before he could protest and pressed my lips to  his. He was caught off guard at first, but he kissed me back. We both knew this was wrong, considering Reegan was my wife-to-be, but we had to know.

The door opened to the house and Reegan called out for me and Jerome. We pulled away from each other a few seconds too late. We both looked to the entrance of the living room to find Reegan in shock.

"Oh my God..."

"Reegan! It's not what it looks like!" Jerome said frantically, straightening out his shirt.

"This is exactly what it looks like, Dad!" Reegan yelled, running out of the house. I quickly followed after her to find where she was going, but she was quicker. She was going to the direction of the hospital.

A few days later, Reegan gave birth to our daughter.

Reegan wouldn't let me see our child when she was born. She didn't let me name her, she didn't let me hold her. The doctors had to keep me out of the room the whole time she gave birth and the days following. Reegan didn't have anyone to stay with besides Rebecca and Jason and that's exactly where she stayed.

She never came back.
