“So, Dani, you like music?” Ross asked me. We had been stuck in the elevator for about half an hour now, making small talk here and there.
“Of course! What, you think I live under a rock or something?” I joked. Ross laughed.
“Not at all.” He said.
“Well guessing from that question I can tell you like music too.”
“Yeah. I’m actually in a ba-“ He stopped in the middle of his sentence and then started again. “I mean, I know this band and they’re really awesome.” He said.
“Really? What are they called?” I asked, really interested. Ross hesitated.
“Um, actually, I forgot the name of the band,” He said, laughing nervously. “But trust me, they’re really good.”
“Well, I’ll take your word for it then.” I said, smiling.
“Ok guys. The repair man is there and working on the elevator. You’ll be out and about in a few. Hang tight.” The operator said suddenly. Ross and I muttered a few ‘thank god’s’ and then turned back to each other.
“Before we leave, um, can we exchange numbers? I really enjoyed talking to you, Dani.” Ross said, making my stomach flip.
“Of course. I enjoyed talking to you, too.” I smiled. We exchanged phone numbers just as the elevator started to slowly move down. Then the doors opened.
“See you around.” Ross said, exiting the elevator.
“Wait, Ross! I have a question. How come earlier in line at Nathan’s you were so rude to me?” I asked, following after him.
“Oh. I’m so sorry I didn’t say anything. I didn’t know I came off as rude, but when I glanced back at you, I couldn’t say anything because I was mesmerized with what I saw. You make me nervous.” He said smiling.
“Is that a good thing?” I asked.
“Absolutely.” He laughed. “I’ll text you. Bye Dani.”
“Bye Ross.” I said. I stood there and watched Ross walk away for the second time. Forget butterflies, this boy made me feel like freakin’ lions were attacking each other in my stomach.

“Dani! There you are! We’ve been looking all over for you. What happened?”Chadexclaimed between licks of ice cream , as I sat down on the bench they were chilling on.
“I got stuck in an elevator.” I said.
“Aw. Here take my ice cream.” Emily said, handing me her cup of melted chocolate ice cream. I took one look at it and shook my head
“Uh, no thanks. I’ll pass.” I said.
“Suit yourself.” She said, taking a big scoop into her mouth.
“Well anyways. You’d never believe who I was stuck in there with.” I grinned.
