My head throbbed as lifted my head from my knees and sniffed. It had almost been half an hour and the banging on my door had stopped. I couldn't think properly. My mind was hazy and the only thing I could think of was,

I don't belong here, and I never will.

It was true, I am a science experiment gone wrong. Terribly wrong. The motive might've been achieved but the cause did not bring happiness. Not to me and not to anyone around me. It was an idea which hadn't been thought through properly. They didn't realize that living forever is actually sad, lonely and depressing.

But I just can't make my one of a kind powers go to waste. I just can't stay here and mop around doing nothing while having the power of immortality. I have all the time in the entire universe. I have to do something with it.

So I decided what I wanted to do with my power. I wanted to find my story. I wanted to be free and discover every spec of this world. I was freaking immortal for crying out loud. I could do whatever the hell I wanted without the possibility of getting hurt. Except for the 'thing' that my parents are afraid of, but it's probably not that big of a deal.

I stood up, wiping my face with the sleeve of my shirt and headed towards the bathroom. I thanked God for making me have my own bathroom in my room because it would've been hella awkward if I went outside right now and had to confront them. And I don't plan on seeing the two anytime soon.

I trudged into the tiled bathroom and looked into the large mirror that covered the entire side of one wall where the sink was placed. There I saw in my reflection a goddamn mess. My hair was all over the place and eyes were red and puffy and I looked extremely tired. Believe it or not immortals also become tired and need rest to survive. It's not that I would die if I didn't get rest it's just that my body wouldn't work as efficiently as it would when it is charged.

I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I looked back in the mirror and adjusted my mess off strawberry blonde hair. I tied it up into a tight ponytail, avoiding any hair from falling onto my face as it is something that irritates me more than nails on chalkboard.

I changed into a better t-shirt from my sweaty, tear stained baggy shirt. It was navy blue with a small yellow moody face in the left corner of the shirt. I pulled on a pair of pajamas and went to bed setting my alarm to 3 am

I jolted awake from my power nap when my alarm went off. I switched it off quickly not wanting to wake my parents up. I yawned and stretched my body lazily, considering going back to sleep when I suddenly realized why I had kept the alarm. I whined when I thought of what I had to do. I was never a morning person

Ignoring my mind screaming at me to go back to bed, I got out of bed and rushed to my wardrobe and changed into black skinny jeans and kept on the same shirt I was wearing. I took out a backpack from the back of my wardrobe and stuffed some outfits and other necessities into it. I was leaving.

I'd had enough of hiding. I wanted to explore. I didn't give a crap about whatever my parents were trying to protect me from. Even though I was kind of underage to be living on my own, I still didn't give a sh – ehm – crap. I was aware of the fact that I didn't have a place to live nor did I have any money, but I was immortal so....... and no, I was not going to be taking advantage of my powers and stealing from anyone. No. That would have just been stooping down too low.

I would find somewhere to live eventually. Or maybe just keep travelling until.......I still didn't know where. I just wanted to go outside. See the world and feel what it was like to be....normal. I wanted to try to blend in with the others, have friends, try to enjoy, have a life.
