Chapter 17

We rang the doorbell of Renae's house and waited.

"I haven't really spoken to her in awhile. What if she doesn't want to talk? Maybe we should just go."

I said. "Cut it out that's you're best friend she'll be happy to see you." Stefanzo said reassuring me.

Before long I heard footsteps walk up to the door.

"Who is it?" A deep voice asked, I knew it was Calvin .

"It's Celia and Stefanzo." I yelled out.

Silence occurred then I heard the door twist and unlock.

"Oh nice of you to finally show up come in." Renae said gesturing us to sit on the couch.

Calvin glared at us and then back to Renae as he sat in the chair.

"I know I haven't gotten around to checking on you girl it's just been alot going on." I fiddled with my fingers.

"I understand you're a busy woman. And you and Stefanzo,I'm sure ,are getting things together. " she said sitting on Calvin's lap.

"Yea its been quite the process but how have you been feeling Renae?" Stefanzo asked her.

"Some days are better than others. That's why I'm glad to have this caring handsome man taking care of me." She smiled at Calvin and kissed his lips slowly.

"I'm shocked you actually came around and gave him a chance congratulations." I smiled.

"It was hard knocking her guard down but once I did, she let me in so smoothly. And I knew what I was signing myself up for." Calvin added.

"I really love this man. I know real when I see it and he's been nothing but real to me." Renae said rubbing his head.

"I'm glad you all came over though because I have some exciting news to share ." She continued.

Uh oh

"What's the news?" Stefanzo said scratching his head.

"I'm pregnant!" She yelled and jumped for joy.

"Shut the front door you for real girl?" Stefanzo said getting up to hug her.

"I cannot believe you! How far along are you." I said getting up to rub her belly.

"2 weeks on Monday I'm just so happy I prayed for this." She said looking at Calvin.

"I can't believe yall did the nasty Renae I am shocked at you." I said frowning up my face.

"You know my boy had to put it down. " Stefanzo said reaching over to dab Calvin.

"You already know how I'm coming out here in these streets baby." He laughed.

Me and Renae looked at them.

"Y'all is a mess. " Renae said.

"Yea but I'm your mess."he came over and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I'm sorry to kill the moment but how will this baby effect your body won't it be too much on you? And what about your chemotherapy?" I asked concern.

"What God has instore for me is what neither you or I know. He has blessed me with the ability to carry this baby in the state I'm in so I'm relying on him to see a way for me." Renae told me.

"The chemo would mess with the baby so I wont continue until these 9 months are over." she continued and smiled at me.

"Well I cant wait to meet my niece or nephew ." I redirected the subject.
