It is now a couple weeks later and no sign of any new students, I'm starting to think it was just a rumor started by the popular girls to make the less popular girls look stupid somehow. I told my mom about that night when I looked out my window and saw what looked to be a large animal, and she seemed nervous but told me to brush it off. It was a little weird how she got nervous, like maybe she knew what it was. All I know is that it was mysterious and somehow I was drawn to it. I decided to go check it out after school.

I got into the car to go to school and of course the whole ride Jason was doing his HOMEwork. He did some of it last night though, so it was an improvement. Today was a lazy day for me I was wearing sweatpants and a black hoodie with the word 'Nope.' on the front. My hair was in a messy bun and I couldn't be bothered with putting makeup on. I walked into school and of course Lindsay greeted me.

"You look like you just got out of bed." Lindsay said while taking a loose piece of hair and tucking it into the bun.

"Don't you know how a messy bun works? And I basically did just get out of bed." I said as I slapped her hand away.

"Well it was a little too messy for my liking." Lindsay said crossing her arms.

I laughed a little at her pouting. We walked to our respective classes and as the day went on I had more and more time to think about what was in the woods that night. I started thinking that maybe it was something like me, that's why I was drawn to it. I may of zoned out in one of my classes and I didn't even realize the teacher talking to me.

"Ms.Reed?...Ms.Reed?" The teacher called out.

Finally breaking out of my trance, "Yes?" I said.

"Have something better to focus on?" The teacher said sternly.

"No." I said, looking down at the desk.

"Well focus on this for the rest of class." The teacher said, pointing to the poetry on the board.

Even after that experience I still can't stop thinking about it. Even though I stopped zoning out, it was still in the back of my mind.

...

Lindsay and I sat down at lunch and started eating the cardboard the school calls pizza.

"I heard you got yelled at by Mr.Fisher today." Lindsay said, taking a drink of her juice she had bought.

"Not really yelled at, more like he raised his voice slightly." I said, poking at the food.

"Why did he 'raise his voice' at you." She said, using air quotes around 'raise his voice'.

"Nothing, I just zoned out. That's all." I said as I took a bite of the pizza.

"You had to of been thinking about something Videl. You don't space out unless there is something on your mind." She said while staring me down.

"I just thought I saw someone in the woods behind my house a couple weeks ago, and I keep thinking it's nothing. But at the same time I want to check it out." I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"Oh, well don't. Do you want to get murdered?" She said, drinking the rest of her juice.

"I wouldn't get murdered, besides if anything it was just a tree moving in the wind weird or something like that." I said, poking at the pitiful amount of carrots we get. "I'll tell you one thing. I'm bringing my lunch from now on, this is the last straw." I said laughing.
