The final and shortest part of the story, Part 3, opens up with Kobe traveling to his new home in Hiyake, after the North and South Divisions were changed into new cities, bringing Tochinokori back and restoring peace to Pentaus. That is then followed by the disposal of Ingrid's cremated body ashes being thrown over the river by Kobe, as she requested before her death. With the death of Kazu, Arwel and Miku become leaders of Tochinokori after being married. The next moments unravel the coming-of-age of the main characters, as each of them grows older and wiser.
Kobe is approached with an unsettling dream of Ingrid at harm, which leaves him with blank thoughts of what could possibly be happening to her in the afterlife. He chooses to think about it positively, forgetting Ingrid with good intent and love. The story itself tells no further information as to what happened to her.
The story ends in a brief chapter followed by this overview.
