When they got back, Logan and Patton were kissing passionately on the bed.
Roman and Virgil stepped out again silently. Virgil was holding back laughs.
They went back down to the kitchen where Logan and Patton wouldn't hear and started laughing hysterically.
"Oh my god.... finally!" Roman wheezed.
Virgil laughed even harder. "I can't believe we walked in on them kissing-"
They were both on the floor, holding their stomachs. Their sides hurt from laughing so hard.
"ARE YOU GUYS DONE YET?" Roman yelled.
"Uhm... yes..." Logan answered, making them laugh even harder.
The two walked up the stairs, clutching their aching stomachs. Roman stumbled into the room and collapsed on the floor, starting to laugh again. Which made Virgil chuckle. And soon, that chuckle turned into full blown laughter, making Virgil fall down beside him.
Logan and Patton exchanged weirded out glances. "Uhm..... why are you two laughing so hard....?"
"We walked in-" wheeze "-on you two-" wheeze "-kissing-" Roman said, and Virgil laughed even more.
Logan and Patton went bright red. "Uhhhhhhhh-"
Virgil and Roman laughed even more.
Five minutes later, they had all finally calmed down. Virgil looked at his phone to check the time. "5:30..." he muttered to himself. "And I still have homework...." He got up. "I should go."
Roman nodded and stood as well. "Do you need a ride?"
He shook his head. "I'll Uber there. Thanks, though."
((I never went to oovoo javer-i'm sorry i'll leave now-))
"Okay. See you tomorrow." He kissed his cheek.
Virgil blushed a bit and said, "See you." He went downstairs.
Ms. Hart was cooking in the kitchen. She spotted Virgil heading toward the door and paused whatever she was doing, wiping her hands on her apron. She went toward Virgil. "You're leaving already?"
He nodded. "I have homework to do. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Mrs. Hart."
She frowned a little. "At least stay for dinner. I made pasta salad."
He sighed. "I guess a little pasta salad never hurt anybody."
Ms. Hart smiled. "Perfect! Call the other boys over, I just finished."
Virgil climbed up the stairs. "What time is it?!" He called up.
"SHOWTIME!" Roman called back.
"NO, HE MEANT LUNCHTIME!" Patton corrected him.
"Patton's right, but showtime works too."
The rest of the boys walked down the steps. Roman looked at Virgil. "I thought you were going home...?"
"I was going to, but Ms. Hart asked me to stay for dinner, so I did," he explained.
Roman nodded.
Patton sat down at the table. "Whats for lunch? I'm starving!" He asked
"Pasta salad!" Ms. Hart said, bringing over the bowl.
"Yes!" Roman exclaimed.
Virgil smiled and sat down, starting to eat.
~the next day~
Virgil walked into school and met the Plastics at the front gate. They talked about nothing in particular until the bell rang, and then they separated.
Virgil went to homeroom, where he sat next to Derril and Anatol.
"My house after school, right?" Derril said.
Anatol and Virgil nodded in confirmation, making Derril smile.
"Perfect. It's time to finally get this revenge party started."
Anatol giggled, and Virgil smiled nervously.
~after school~
Derril, Anatol, and Virgil met at the back gate. From there they went to Derril car, and Derril took them to his house.
Once they got there, they entered the house. "MOM, I BROUGHT ANA AND VIRGIL OVER!" He called.
"OKAY, JUST DON'T MAKE A MESS OR DO ANYTHING STUPID!" Who Virgil assumed was Derril's mom called back.
"WE WON'T!"
Derril led them down a short hallway to his room. They walked in, and Anatol nested on the bean bag chair in the corner. Derril sat down in his desk chair and opened his laptop while Virgil got comfortable on his bed.
"So, did you find out anything new?" Derril asked Virgil while typing in the passcode.
"I'm still not sure about this whole thing, Derril... I mean, they seem really nice..."
Derril stared at him as if he was crazy. "Are you kidding me? They're horrible! Do you know the things they did to us?"
Virgil looked up at him.
"I'm sure they told you that I spread rumors about them?"
He nodded.
"Well, they started spreading them about me first. First they said I was attracted to snakes, then they said I found Elphaba attractive, especially her green skin, and then-,well you get the point. They started rumors about me before I did about them."
Virgil sighed. "I guess that is pretty mean..."
"Virgil, Roman and Patton and Logan, they're not your friends. We're your friends. And we're gonna make them pay."
Anatol nodded. "Exactly. You know what friends do, they got your back, and they are fun to be around. Those guys are backstabbers and void of all enjoyment."
Derril smiled. "Imagine a party with dresses and cake and singing and dancing, and there's a magic act that humiliates the Plastics beyond belief, and all it's gonna take is some secrets."
Anatol chuckled.
Virgil thought for a moment. It did make sense... but still... they seemed so nice...
It was as if Derril had read his thoughts. "Virgil, they don't really care about you. It's just an act, so that everyone will think they're nice for helping out the new kid. I doubt Roman actually likes you, and Logan probably despises you. Patton.... well, he doesn't hate anyone, but he probably doesn't think you're that awesome."
Virgil felt something pierce his heart. He was probably right... they probably didn't like him... but he still loved Roman... he couldn't help it... He sighed. Derril didn't need to know about his crush. "Alright," he said. "I'll help."
Derril smirked. "Perfect. Let's get started on those papers, shall we?"
