Chapter 10

Myles Pov

It has now the first day of school, and I haven't heard from Briar at all, I have been texting her all weekend, and I get all I get is, "don't worry about me", "I'm fine", well anyway, I will get to see her today. Today I wake up earlier than usual and go to the gym. Going to the gym helps me to focus, and on top of that, I get to exercise. Sometimes when I feel like I don't want to exercise, I produce music. Right now, I am making a song about Briar, she is my inspiration and core. I think she is the one that I want, I hope she feels the same way.

I get in my car and drive to the gym, it is like 5:30am, so it is pretty early, but I like waking up early though. When I arrive at the gym, it is around 6:00am, so that gives me a 1hr and a half, that should be enough time. My usual routine takes about 2hrs, but I think I can cut some things down.

After working out for 1hr and a half, I change, have a shower, and get in the car on my way to school. When I arrive at school, it's about 8:00am, since school starts at 8:35am, I have around 35mins before school starts, I see Briar's car meaning that she is at school already. I walk into school and immediately see Briar at her locker, she looks like she has been crying and looks like she had no sleep for days straight. I walk up to her.

"Hey, Briar, are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." She says in a tired voice

"You can talk to me, you know?" I tell her.

"Um, I have to go now, bye." She says.

I watch her walk away quickly, I try to follow her, but she turns a corner and is nowhere to be seen afterwards. I sigh, just knowing she can't trust me breaks my heart into pieces, but I won't push her into telling me, I just want her to know that I am here for her, no matter what. I walk towards my locker again and see my all-time best friend, Issac, we were like best friends before we were even born. Our mothers are best friends and still are. Fun fact, they meet their husbands at the same time, because their husbands were best friends. So we are like family to each other.

"Hey, bro!"

"Hey, Myles."

"So how is it going, Myles?"

"Messed up!" I say with anger laced in my tone.

"What do you mean?" He asked

"Come over tonight, and I'll tell you, I don't want to say it with all these people around eavesdropping."

"Alright, then that's a date, then." He said, raising his eyebrows up and down.

I just laugh and walk away.

I walk towards my first class, which is music producing, I have class with Briar in 3rd period, and that's after interval, which is like 2 hours. That gives me enough time to come up with something to say before I act like a complete jerk. I can keep control for a certain amount of time before I burst and act like a fool in front of her.

~Skip to Interval~

I just had a free period, and next, I have dance with Briar. I hope she isn't avoiding me after this morning, I really just want to help her, and not be seen like a desperate fool, who needs attention. I walk into the cafeteria and see Briar sitting at a free table, I buy some lunch and sit by her.

"Hey, Briar."

"Hi, Myles."

"So Briar, I know this morning was a bit awkward, and I don't expect an answer, I just want you to know that I am there for you whenever you need it. Ok?"

"I know you are just trying to be nice here, but I have a lot going on, so I would like just to keep it friendly, right now, I'm not in the mood to trust anyone yet." (A/N, that was harsh enough)

"Ok, I understand."

We continue talking, but there is this awkward silence every now and then. After about 10min of that, the bell goes, and we go to class together.
