Dumbledore's Army

Next Saturday we were in Hogsmeade. Harry was still complaining about how he couldn't teach while I was pretty positive about it. "This is mad. Who'd wanna be taught by us? We're nutters, remember?" Harry asked, still not believing he is doing this. "Look on the bright side: We can't be worse then toad face." I laughed. "Who's supposed to be meeting us, then?" Harry asked. "Just a couple of people." I smiled.

We opened the door to a small pub called Hogshead. It was completely empty and the only one inside was the bartender and a goat. After about a 10 minutes of waiting, people stared coming in. The first to arrive were Neville and Luna. Seamus, Dean, Fred, George, Ginny, Draco, Vincent, Gregory, Blaise and many more slowly walked into the pub.

After everyone had arrived Hermoine stood up from her chair and broke the silence. "Hi. So you all know why we are here. We need a teacher. A proper teacher. One who's had real experience defending themselves against the Dark Arts." Hermoine explained. "Why?" A boy, I believe is from Hufflepuff asked. "Why?" Ron repeated. "Because You-Know-Who's back, you tosspot." Ron snapped. "Calm the fuck down, Ron." Samira hissed. "So they says." The boy nodded his head towards me and Harry. "So Dumbledore says." Hermoine corrected. "So Dumbledore says because they say. The point is where is the proof?" The boy asked. Silence fell over us and I thought of a way to reply.

"If Potter and Hydra could tell us more about how Diggory was killed." Another boy spoke up. I stood up and looked around the room. "I'm not going to talk about Cedric, so if that's why you're here, clear out not." I said on a agitated tone. "Come on, Hermoine. They're here because they think we're some sort of freaks." I heard Harry mumble.

"Is it true you two can produce the Patronus Charm?" Luna asked. I turned my head and looked at her. "Yes, we both can." I answered. "Blimey, I didn't know you could do that!" Dean exclaimed. I shot him a quick smile and turned my attention to Neville. "And (Y/N) killed a basilisk, with the sword in Dumbledore's office." I shuddered at the thought of Emerald's look when I told her that her mother died. "Third year, they fought off about a hundred Dementors at once." Daniel explained. "And last year they really did fight You-Know-Who in the flesh." Hermoine told them. "Wait. Look, it all sounds really great when you say it like that, but the truth is,  most of it was just luck...." Harry trailed off. "We didn't know what we were doing half the time. We nearly always got help." I continued for Harry. "They're just being modest." Hermoine said. "No, we're not. Facing this stuff in real life is not like school....." Harry stared. "In school, if you make a mistake, you can just try again tomorrow. But out there.....When you're a second away from being murdered, or watching a friend die, you don't know what it's like." I finished. There fell a silence and I let myself fall back onto the bench. "You're right. That's why we need your help. Because if we're going to have any chance at beating........Voldemort." Hermoine stated. There fell a silence again. "He's really back?" Collin asked and I nodded.

I watched together with Harry as people wrote their names on the parchment. I watched as Draco wrote his name in elegant letters, followed by the sloppy handwriting from Vincent and Gregory.

We were on our way back to Hogwarts, me and Harry in the front. "We need a place where Umbridge won't find us." I stated. "The Shrieking Shack?" Ginny proposed. "To small." I commented. "The Forbidden Forest?" Daniel asked. "Not bloody likely." Draco laughed. "What happens if Umbridge does find out?" Gregory asked. "Who cares? I mean, it's sort of exciting, isn't it, breaking the rules?" Hermoine asked thrilled. "Who are you and what have you done with Hermoine Granger?" I joked. "Anyway, at least we know one positive thing that came from today." Samira said. "And that is?" Harry asked, raising an eyebrow. "Cho couldn't stop staring at you." I whispered and winked. I watched as my best friend looked down and blushed. "Right. Over the next few days, we should each come up with a couple possibilities of places we can practice." I stated.
