A/N: They finally updated wattpad for phones so now I can post pics and vids! So happy! Have a great day!

It was nice you know; having the heat of another person against me. Like I had jumped from the cold shadows into the light on a hot day. I could feel him next to me, waiting quietly. I hated to admit it but I was in love with him, and he would never know. Next to him I felt...human. When he stood to leave, my mind and heart begged him to stay. When he walked off, chills swept over me once again.

I put the book down quietly and turned to Hook. He was staring out the window, his chin resting on his hand. His eye was still bruised badly and the cut on his lip was turning into a white scar. He seemed a little annoyed. Hook must have tried to talk to me while I was reading. He should've known by now I don't listen when I read.

Belle never really did tell me what was going on last night. I had ignored it until now, it kind of bothered me.

Hook turned and nodded. "How are you love?"

My eyes raked over his body slowly. I saw him lick the scar above his lips. I sat my book down onto my desk and shrugged. "I'm fine I guess. Just a little tired."

He stood and trudged over to me, smiling. Very carefully, he scooped me up into his arms and curled his hook over my shin. We both began laughing and I kissed his temple.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked when he began spinning me around.

"Oh please," Hook chuckled. "I've carried plenty of things heavier than you." He dropped us onto my bed and laid against me.

"I don't think we've ever done this together," I sighed, rolling towards him.

"You're right." My thumb traced the dark circle under his eye. "You said you're tired."

"Well...I am." Killian began to lean it and I politely pushed him away. "Tired as in, it's time for bed."

"Oh come on Red," he begged.

I took my iPhone from my pocket and clicked Regina's number. After putting the phone to my ear, she answered.

"Ruby? Are you alright?" Worry coated her voice.

Hook raised his head and looked at me. "I'm fine but I didn't call to talk about me."

"What is it you need?" So much for being The Evil Queen. Henry really changed her, for the better.

"I need-" I was cut off by a knock on the door. "Hang on."

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine just give me a minute." I put the phone down but didn't end the call.

"Hook," I hissed. He nodded and jumped out the window. "Hook!?" I shrieked. "Are you crazy!? I never said to jump out the window." I grabbed his arm and pulled him over to the bed. "Get under."

I opened the door to see Granny, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. "Ruby," she said. "What are you doing in here?" She was dragging out her sentences, she knew.

"I...I...I'm just...reading!" I quickly picked up my book. Sweat ran down my face as I shakily smiled.

"Ruby Lucas." She grabbed my arms.

"Granny!"

"The pirate is here isn't he!" She yelled. I stepped back. "I can smell him."

"He's not here." I refused to let Hook be hurt anymore.

"If he is, so help me I will-"

"Granny," I cried. "Stop. You don't understand. He's changed."

"Sure. I'm just trying to protect you."

"Then let go of me." Without another word she walked off.

Hook jumped out from beneath the bed. He hugged me. "Are you alright love?"

"I'm fine."

"Let me look at your wrists." He pulled my hands towards him and flipped him over. Pink. "What the hell did she do?"

"I'm fine." Then I remembered. "Regina."

"What?"

"She's on the phone still." I dashed to the bed. The call was ended.

Regina's POV

Like always, my desk had papers, pens, and just random crap scattered all over my desk. I sighed. I wasn't even mayor anymore. For once in what felt like forever, Henry was asleep in his bed, in his real home, mine.

I went to my computer and clicked on solitaire. A few clicks later when I almost finished the game, my office phone ran. Ruby? I picked it up and clicked call. "Ruby? Are you alright?" Why the hell was she calling me? Was she alright?

"I'm fine but I didn't call to talk about me." She replied.

"What is it you need?" I began drumming my fingers on my desk. I meant to clean it before she called.

"I need-" she stopped as a knock sounded in the distance. "Hang on."

"Are you alright?" I was becoming really anxious.

"I'm fine just give me a minute." Ruby didn't end the call. "Hook," she hissed. There was a thud. "Hook!? Are you crazy!? I never said to jump out the window." What's going on? "Get under." This was getting weird.

The door creaked as it opened. I rubbed my chin. "Ruby," a familiar voice said. "What are you doing in here?" Granny was dragging. What was happening? My fingernails slid between my teeth, yep. I chew on my nails when I'm nervous.

"I...I...I'm just...reading!" Ruby's voice shook slightly. I shivered.

"Ruby Lucas." Hmm. That sounded violent.

"Granny!" Red cried. Oh gosh.

"The pirate is here isn't he!" Granny yelled back. "I can smell him." So that's what this was about.

"He's not here." She was lying. Oh my god.

"If he is, so help me I will-" What was Granny trying to get at?

"Granny. Stop. You don't understand. He's changed." Maybe.

"Sure. I'm just trying to protect you." I was just about to slam my fist on the desk, but if Granny heard me I'd probably be next on her kill list.

"Then let go of me." She grabbed her!?

I ended the call and stood up, my mouth agape. I took a minute to let it all sink in. After, I returned to my seat and called...well...Mr. Gold. "Rumplestiltskin."

"Regina? Why are you calling this late?" He said right away.

"I need your help."

Ruby's POV

Hook roamed the room, going back and forth, hand in his hair. I was laying in the bed.

"What am I going to do with you Red?" He shook his head.

"Keep me and love me forever?" I rubbed the cool towels around my aching wrists.

"I guess." He stopped walking and curled up beside me. Hook began toying with my long strains of hair, twirling it between his fingers. This time when he leaned in I didn't stop him. "I love you," I barely heard him whisper.

"I love you too." He wrapped his hand around my wrist, pushing the cloth against it. It felt nice.

His lips met mine and we laid there quietly together, as night pasted us. We had things to worry about such as Cora, the town, and Granny's strong ass grip. Yet, we didn't care, we didn't worry about those things. We worried about each other.
