A/N: August 20...happy b day Meghan Ory! I'm sure everyone here loves Red as much as I do! Or maybe you guys are just here for Hook lol idk :)
There was a soft mumbling, I couldn't understand it. Then it became louder and clearer.
Can you feel it?
I realized where it was coming from. Me. My head.
Can you feel it? The voice asked again. The dead weight of your legs from the medicine? I had been taking a lot due to illness. The dizziness from the alcohol? Every night when Hook wasn't here I would drown my self in wine and watch all my worries go down the drain. The soft throbbing of your pulse as blood is pumped out of your wrists? How? How did this voice know this? That's it. What we've been waiting for, that the comfort. The beauty of dying.
My eyes opened to the sound of banging on the door.
"Open up!" Emma. What was she doing here? There were people shouting all outside my door. I turned towards Hook who looked worried.
"What's going on?" I whispered.
"They know," he replied in a flat voice. "The whole town."
"Knows what?"
"About us."
"How?" I grabbed his hand.
"Regina," he growled.
"Ruby!" David yelled through the door. "We know you're there with Hook!"
I began to cry again and took Hook's face between my hands. "I don't wanna lose you Hook!" I choked. My lips quickly reached his. He became tense for a second then slowly relaxed. I tilted my head and deepened the kiss.
Hook pulled away to tell me, "If this shall be the last day of our lives together Ruby Lucas than I shall cherish this moment forever."
David finally kicked in the door.
"I am hurt," said Mary Margret. "I am your best friend and you didn't tell me that Hook and Cora were in Story Brooke!?"
"I thought Regina wouldn't tell," I replied.
"Well she did and look where that got us," Hook stated from behind me.
"Well," she paused to glare at Killian. "He is evil don't you get it Red? Why are you doing this?"
"He's not who you think he is," I declared.
"He's a selfish, dirty, rotten, cheating pirate bitch!" Cried Emma. "Did I get it?"
"Most of it," David said. He pointed his sword at us. "Your going to jail Hook."
"I've done nothing!" Hook raised his left hand towards David, his face turning red. "If my love for Red is illegal then I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life in that dark hell hole."
"Hook!" I begged. "Don't do this. Why must we fight? Why can't I love who I wish to love."
"Ruby's right." Granny. Then she turned to their side and said. "As long as she kills him I'm good."
Emma took her gun from her belt. "Killian Jones. You have the right to remain silent."
"Let me talk lass!"
"Wait." Regina stepped forward. "I simply tell you Ruby and Hook are dating and you start a riot? What is this town a killing spree? I didn't wasn't this to happen I just wanted to protect her."
"I'm on your side!" Hook yelled.
"You're with Cora!" Emma said in the same tone.
"That's how you two met," Mary Margret whispered. "Hook was doing a dirty deed for Cora! And Ruby was involved!"
"You're right," Hook explained. He told us about the trap Cora was setting for Snow and Regina and how I was the bait. "No one would ever suspect Cora of her disappearance," he concluded. "But that doesn't matter now. I don't want the crocodile's head anymore.
Mr. Gold stepped out. "I agree. I saved Hook. I think we should leave our differences behind us and become a town again. For Red. For Hook. For Henry. For everyone no matter who they are. But there is one person we must fight. Cora. Who's with me?" And everyone's hand shot in the air and David's sword dropped to the ground in a clank. I looked over at Hook and smiled. We were safe. But for how long?
