Ch. 7

My mother's piercing voice woke me up from my slumber, screaming, "ALI GET UP WE ARE LEAVING TO GO TO VISIT NANA AND PAPA."

I roll over groaning. I slowly roll off my bed and stand, walking past my mirror I glance at it, then do a double take. I looked horrendous. my naturally straight blonde hair looked frizzy, and I had some leftover makeup running the side of my face from when I was sleeping. And I noticed that I had some drool on the side of my mouth.

"Can I get ready first?" I yelled back.

"One. Hour! And I'm leaving!" she answered.

So I quickly got into the shower and dressed myself in sweats and a regular shirt. I took off my leftover makeup and applied just a little mascara. After walking down the stairs mother gave me an are you seriously wearing that? look. I gave her the biggest smile I could and she just shook her head chuckling. Sarah soon joined us wearing jeans and a nice shirt. She'd always had more of a fashion sense than me. She probably got up earlier and had more time to get ready.

"So we're staying for a couple of days in Arizona with my parents and its a just a visit. I know you love them, you just don't show it." she smirked. It's true, I love my grandparents to death, but sometimes I just don't like them. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Anyways so after she explained the whole plan, Sarah and I both went upstairs and packed enough clothes for a couple days. We all piled into the car and headed to the better grandparents house.

Since the car ride was forever, it was spent texting Luke and Michaela. After a while I started to feel tired, I fell asleep listening to music from my phone, as Sarah stayed up on Tumblr. She had a way with those social media websites.

I was woke up by my mom asking if I could drive the rest of the way. Of course I drove the rest of the way, my mom looked like she could fall asleep at any given moment. Sarah came and sat up front while mom laid in the back and slept.

I'd driven to Nana's house before so I knew the way really well.

After about an hour of me driving, my phone started ringing. I asked Sarah to look at it. "hello?" she said. Oh, she decided to answer. "no no no," laughed, "this is Sarah. Okay, here she is." she handed me the phone.

"uhm, hello..?" I asked into the phone.

"Ali! Hey! What are you doing on that boring car ride? It is boring right?" Luke chuckled into the speaker. I smiled hearing his voice. It was one of those voices you could listen to that could calm you down or you could fall asleep to it with a smile.

"Right, right. I'm driving as of right now and we're only an hour away from Nana's house." I tell him. We were only an hour from Phoenix. We left around 8 this morning, so it'll be about midnight maybe when we get there since we've come all the way from Louisiana. It's been a long ass drive.

"Sounds like too much fun!" Luke says with sarcasm falling from his lips. Speaking of his lips... I remember the kiss we had at the club. I remember exactly how it felt. And it felt like I could've molded into him and stayed that way forever. Soft, pink lips that belong to Luke, why do you do this to me? But Luke and I both have agreed that that should never happen again. Even though deep down I want it to...

"It sure is!" I reply just as unenthusiastically.

I hear him laugh on the other end. "Well I'll let you go, bye Ali." I can practically hear him smiling. "alright, I'll text you later." I smile even though he can't see me. We hung up and I can see Sarah out on the corner of my eye. She just staring at me with the biggest smirk.

"What?" I ask blankly.

"You so like him. I can just tell." she giggles.

"How could you tell??" I asked, surprised.

"I am your twin. I just know these things." she answered truthfully.

So I just nodded and turned the radio on. It stayed liked this until we got to Nana and Papa's.

"MAH ANACONDA DONT WANT NONE UNLE--" I quickly change the radio station use to the fact that I hate that song. Sarah agrees. So instead she plugs her phone in and we start listening to The 1975. Our favorite.

The rest of the drive went fairly well since it only consisted of music.

After we arrived to Nana and Papa's house, Sarah and I go to the guest room to put our stuff down and head back into the kitchen to get a late night snack considering the time being after 1am.

Soon, we were both asleep sharing the bed under the covers.

hey! yes I know it's been a month since I last updated but that's the new "update schedule" because of classes and stuff. and I'm sorry if this was short, it's just a filler thing. lol anyways! Bear with me on this story!
