Past Memories

I ran inside and took cover near the back door. almost to tears that i will never see the closest thing that i have to a father again. i wouldn't be living right now if it wasnt for him. i just hope he makes it out. while im standing there the members of kilo try to defend their actions. once that was finished a huge hole was blown into the front wall. At that moment i knew none of them did. i ran out the back door like everyone else.

I ran to the first Raven and it filled with gears and it was away. i wouldn't even see Stricklin again. even though i didnt really talk to him it would have been nice to have atleast another man of omega alive. I dont know what will happen now. i know that the cog will not be anywhere near the same but i dont think i can take orders anymore.

We were only in the air for a few minutes when we halted, and landed. "Gears we need to hold off the locusts while Lt. Baird and Loomis defeat Karn." i thought in my mind 'this is such bull shit!' Everyone jumped off and we were in another firefight. Gears were falling left and right. i was the only one that was able to hold a gun it seemed.

As i seen more and more valuable gears fall because they didnt know how to hold a gun. i hit the guy next to me on the shoulder, "you have to keep a stiff arm to keep aim!" he looked at me, nodded, and went back to firing. a grenade came flying across our cover. "LOOK OUT!!!" i yelled as i rolled to my left. i took cover again and looked back.

the other gear had blown up and the barrier was barely standing.then there was a huge explosion on top of the court house. "all gears report back to your ravens. we are falling back. get out now." The ravens landed and they were taking fire. "LETS GO! WE ARE TAKING HEAVY FIRE!" Everyone piled onto the ravens.

They were nowhere near as cramped as before. we lost so many right there. i think its a sign that we won't last long in the war. i doubt its going to be a war... i bet its going to be a slaughter...

We were flying for a few hours before we reached the main base. the ravens landed and we all jumped out. over the intercom i heard "you are all thats left of the COG, everyone else died in the initial attack." That is when i list hope, i really hoped that at least one man from omega made it out, but now we were all doomed. 'wait' i thought 'my brothers, they enlisted' and i started to run for the C category bedding.

I ran past A, then B, then i reached C. it was the smallest, even Z was bigger somehow. i opened the door and walked in. "Carmine!" i yelled "The Carmine brothers?!" then from the same place all three emerged. "its me guys" i said while i held my arms out "i made it out." they all ran toward me and hugged me. i must've been all they had left as well. "we didnt think you made it out," Benjamin said "ya we thought you were a goner, the locusts really ravaged the city. they left no one to live.' Anthony said.

Clayton didnt really say anything, which was weird, all the Carmine's were always really talkative. "whats up with Clayton?" i asked the others. "we dont know, we weren't stationed with him." Anthony said "i guess he lost someone close to him, couldn't be mom or dad, they died years ago." Benjamin said "but" Anthony interrupted "he was always the charmer of us four, before the war he could've found someone."

That must've been it, who else could be that close other than us? "Have either of you tried to talk to him?" i asked the both shook his head "Nope, i dont know if you should either." Anthony said. when someone is fucked up that bad, its a good idea to question his mental health.
