I COULDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO HER, THIS WAS HER HOUSE, AND I WAS INVADING EVERY LITTLE BIT OF IT. I nodded slowly and smiled down at Rileagh who had been staring at me with his father's big green-grey eyes. "Hi, Rileagh." I said, as I smiled at him, I had always loved children, especially the ones that were shy. "Hello...what are you doing with my daddy?" Uh oh. "I'm his...friend." He stared at me, his eyes piercing into my soul, it seemed like deja vu. "You're lying." I looked at the child, his eyes seemed wiser beyond his years, he really did have his father's eyes, "No, I'm no-" He cut me off, "You're lying..I have my daddy's....abilities, I can sense your lying, I can look into your eyes and search everything about you..Please stop lying, if you do I will never trust you.."
Well, the thing is, I'm not exactly sure what your Daddy and I are...I suppose I'm his girlfriend." He nodded, "Good. Mommy says honesty is always rewarded, let's be more honest next time." He got up from his place on the ground and looked down at me, and I felt like I was the child, "Would you like to come with me?" I asked where and he said it was a surprise. Now I'm getting to meet a four year-old. I stood up and RIleagh held his hand up to me, I took it, his small hands were warm and soft, they were so nice to the touch.
He led me through the woods and still wouldn't tell me where we were going. We went passed tons of trees and every one that we passed I heard chants and whispers and goosebumps ran up and down my back. He finally stopped and sat down right in the middle of the woods, trees surrounding us, "Wha-what are we doing?" He put a finger to his lips gesturing for me to be quiet, and then pat his small hand on the spot next to him. I reluctantly sat and instictively closed my eyes. All of a sudden rushes of wind and voices and spirits and leaves came. All of a sudden I was squeezing little Rileagh's hand and I was listening to words from one direct spirit. "What are they saying?" I whispered softly, he crinkled his nose slightly, which I found adorable, "They are saying: Hate is going to be where love once settled, your heart will fall to the womb, while your womb's heart is beating wildly." I closed my eyes, trying to find if I could make sense of it, I couldn't.
What does it mean?" He opened his eyes, they looked dazed, as if they were seeing the brightest thing ever. "I don't know. I'm only four, what do you expect?" I laughed heartily, and he smiled, I'd never seen him smile yet, which is odd because most four year-olds are always smiling. He had pearly white baby teeth that I found adorable, I just wanted to gather him up and hug him half to death. He closed his eyes again, "I suppose I can try to figure out, but Ponto says i'm not the one who's supposed to be figuring it out." I looked at him, my brow furrowed, "Ponto?"
"He's the ind--spirit, that delivered the message."
"Oh. Do you always come out here and talk to the...spirits?"
"Of course. They're my friends."
"Ryleagh, you're quite the extraordinare aren't you?"
He shrugged and stood up. "Would you like to meet my other friend?" I smiled, "Sure, what's this one's name?"
"Kaolisphia."
"Not sure I can pronounce that, I'll just call her Kaoli."
"Okay."
He walked toward the deepest part of the woods and I was quite relectant, I had been fairly creeped out by the "spirits" earlier. I walked behind him trying my best to catch up with the boy. He finally stopped in front of this creek on the edge of the woods, "What are we doing here?"
"She li-- well, she's here."
Then a girl appeared, just out of nowhere, she had long black hair in two braids hanging from her head and she had the darkest eyes I'd ever seen, she wore a dress that appeared to be made of deerskin. "This is Kaolisphia." The girl floated toward me, and I was too shocked to realize that this girl wasn't exactly a girl at all. She stared at me, she didn't move, just looked into my eyes, and I didn't dare move. She went back over to Rileagh and spoke to him in a way he would only understand. He looked at me.
What is she saying?"
"She's telling me about your future and past...." I looked at the girl,
"What's my future?"
"She says I can't tell you."
I sighed, and sat down on the bare ground. All these mysterious prophecies and everything. Rileagh's face suddenly becomes a mixture of things, "What?" I asked, he turned to me, "You should go, very soon. Your father....he's on the verge of dying..." I looked at him and my eyes widened, "What?!" I ran through the woods completely forgetting that I left a four-year-old behind me. "Aleeeexx!!" I reached the house and barged into the door finding Alex with...her they were practically making out. I squealed silently, and Alex looked at me, "Vivian, wait!" I ran out of the door before he could say anything else. Was this his plan? Get his kid to get me out of the way, then go make out with Mommy?! I was angry, devastated, and even more so after hearing what I heard. I was practically in the middle of nowhere so there wasn't much anywhere to run off to, so I just ran and hid under a tall, shaded oak tree.
Her face when she saw me was repulsive, she had the biggest pie-eating grin that I'd ever seen. I'd just have to save my father by myself, and kill the guy holding him captive myself. I started crying, this has just been a glorious week for me. Rileagh stood above me and out of the corner of my eye I saw him and almost jumped. I vigorously wiped away the tears and looked up at him, his precious, angelic, face, his mom's face. He sat next to me and said nothing as he took my hand in his. I sat there and cried as he held my hand and we sat there silently for about an hour until Alex came. He had tears running down his face, "I'm so glad I found you! I'm so sorry, Viv! I really am, but...you have to understand, I've known her since I was a child, the bond we have is strong, and the child we have makes it all that much stronger...I know I shouldn't have kissed her, but you have no idea how convincing sh-" He suddenly looked at his son whose eyes were wide and aware. Rileagh had been absorbing all of the information like a sponge.
Son, could you...leave us, please?"
"No."
He sighed and picked up Rileagh walking away. He came back about five minutes later and I didn't wait for him to start a sentence I pulled his face toward mine and let our lips and tears intertwine speaking their own words. It is very difficult to stay upset with someone you love.
