When Things Finally Happen

After school, Elena went to the cemetery to sit by her parents grave and write in her journal. "Dear diary, today was tiring. I must've said 'I'm fine, thanks' a million times, and didn't mean it once. I am worried about Jeremy, but tonight were going to the Grill to take my mind off things". Her writing was interrupted by a crow. CAW! it screeched. "Hello bird, now shoo!" Elena said. It left but it crowed again behind her as fog began to form by her feet. In tye distance, a figure was looking at her from behind a statue. She ran fast but tripped. Stefan was there, and helped her up. They talked but then she was bleeding.
"Blood make you squeamish?" Elena asked.
"Something like that yeah." Stefan said. But before Elena could look up from her injured leg, he was gone.

That night Elena was getting ready for The Grill when she heard a knock on the door. It was Stefan.
"Hey, I'm sorry for my disappearing act earlier. That was not nice."
"Oh don't worry about it! It's fine!" There was a short silence.
"Oh um going somewhere?" He asked.
"Er, yeah, I was going to The Grill with my friends... wanna come with me?"

"Can you talk to Elena for me?" Matt asked Caroline while they were waiting for Elena.
"No, you talk to her your self! I'm not a messenger." Caroline said.
"Well, that's kind of awkward, I mean, SHE broke up with ME. I can't just talk to her!" Matt exclaimed.
"Just give her a little time. I mean, her parents just died. Give her a bit of space." Bonnie said to him.
Just then, Elena walked into The Grill with Stefan. Bonnie and Caroline looked stunned. Matt looked annoyed.
"Yeah, she 'needs time.'" Matt said, irritated.
They came down to the table and everyone introduced themselves. They played pool, talked, and had fun. Matt was still a bit salty though.

Pretty soon, Elena and Stefan started dating. Matt and Caroline started dating too. But when Elena and Stefan got together is when Elena met Stefan's brother, Damon.
