The Beginning of Something Great

"Elena... I'm in love with you." Damon said, breaking the silence.
They were standing on her doorstep, late into the night.
"Damon I-I don't know what to say..."
"Then don't say anything. I don't want you to make irrational decisions in a hurry. Think about it. Sort out your feelings Elena. Come to me when you do."
He left her standing in the dark at her door. She stood for a moment and thought. She's in love with him, she just wants to be sure.

Jer and Elena are not safe at home so Damon takes them to a hotel. Jeremy finds them outside of the hotel room making out.
"What is going on?" Jeremy says, disgusted.
Quickly, Elena pulls away from Damon. "Oh my gosh Jer, I'm so sorry you had to see this..." she was interrupted by Jeremy. "No, no. I'm leaving I'm not doing this." Jeremy left the two feeling guilty.

The two had begun to grow close and build trust. They fell in love. And eventually they were dating. They were very in love.
