The two boys giggled as they chased eachother down at recess. Jeremy finally caught up with Michael, and slapped him gently on the back

TAG! YOUR IT MICHA!

Michael suddenly turned on his heel and ran towards Jeremy instead of away from him.

The two fifth graders clumsily ran after eachother, occasionally tagging eachother and running in the opposite direction.

Michael wouldn't have it any other way. He felt like he couldn't be happier.

He hopes that Jeremy feels the same.

Without paying attention- Michael accidentally bumps into Jeremy, causing the fifths graders to fall over. They both burst into a fit of laughter.

Why don't we take a break Micha?

Michael smiled next to the boy.

Sure jere.

Michael and Jeremy were inseparable.

The argument got worse. Michael was only trying to help Jeremy, but all of Michaels pleads went in one ear and out the other. He even accused Michael of being jealous because he had a squip instead of him.

He felt cornered in that tiny bathroom.

Talking turned to shouting as Michael tried his damn hardest to get his Jeremy back.

The Jeremy that he knew and loved.

"Tch. I thought you would be happy to see me."Jeremy hissed, coldly.

Michaels eyes hardened. "And I AM. it's just that this," Michael gestured over to Jeremy. "THIS, isn't you man!"

"Whatever! I don't need to hear this shit from you!"
Jeremy said.

Jeremy turned to leave, but Michael blocked the exit. He couldn't let him slip from his grasp again.

Not when he's so close...

"Get out of my way, Loser."

Jeremy hissed, as he practically shoved Michael to the ground. Michaels heart sank, as he frantically stood up.

But it was too late.

Jeremy shot him a cold stare, and spat into a nearby trash bin.

And with that, he left.

Michael stared down at the floor in traumatized silence. His didnt want to believe it. He didn't want to believe that the man who he spent most his life with, the man who he fell desperately in love with, the man he ADORED, just shut him out so suddenly. All for some stupid girl.

His mind couldn't process the weight of the situation. What just happened? Why am I here again? Everything seemed to whip past him in a blur. All Michael knew was that he let Jeremy slip through the crooks of his fingers in a blind attempt to fix their already perishing friendship. He kicked at a fuzzy blue bathroom rug that lay infront of him.

He suddenly didn't feel like being a loser was cool anymore.

-----

Michael hummed a sad tune as he stood pathetically in the floor of a bathroom. Loud music blared outside the thin walls, drunk people danced and sung along to the songs, and the strong stench of beer filled the house.

It was stupid, really. He snuck into this party so determined to fight for his best friends life, but now he just sat there, void of emotion, as he heard faint shouts and singing from outside the thin walls.

"Get out of my way loser."

The words seemed to echo in Michaels mind. Over and over again, like a broken record. Tears streamed down his face uncontrollably.

Loser.

Loser.

LOSER.

Michael felt the world swirling under him, his sobs growing stronger.

He doesn't care about you.

"S-shut up..." Michael cursed, shaking uncontrollably. Michael felt his knees buckle underneath him and collided with the ground. He didn't have enough willpower to even stand up.

Loser.

Pathetic.

No wonder I left you.

"shut up, please," Michael pleaded. "Make it stop..."

Michael tried hoisting himself up, just to have him fall back to the ground with a thud. Michael groaned and rubbed at his sides.

Michael loved Jeremy.

Michael needed Jeremy.

But it seemed like Jeremy no longer needs him.

Strength seemed to come back to him as he pathetically boosted himself up against the door and slid to the ground. He shakily wrapped his arms around his body and cried into his sleeves.

He never felt so worthless, so unneeded. With every second that passed, he felt more and more lonely and rejected. If he disappeared from the face of the earth...

And no one would even notice.

especially Jeremy.

Not anymore, at least.
