Burning colours

Chapter 9

Amber still confused about Darren's attitude but ignored him ...He was a different person last time.Little did she know she was the ultimate reason for his rude behaviour.

Darren's human instinct  made him do things that will make Amber jealous. He stood like a gentleman at the end of the staircase and offered his hand to Jannet for support . He dutifully took the mini case from her hand and walked behind her slowly. He did not talk after  the brief conversion with Amber..His brows were utterly curled that anyone standing in between his brows would be crushed to death.

Darren is  humorously sarcastic  person by nature and he is usually comfortable with new people but now, he changed.
Jannet stopped by to hug Amber and to wish her bye but Darren did not stop he continued walking and kept the mini case in the back seat of the car

"What's wrong with him ?" amber asked jannet

"Maybe he's just having a bad day" jannet replied and with that she left for her first photo shoot.

Darren was already waiting outside and opened the passenger's door  instead of the  back seat's door..Jannet didn't seem to mind though she found it odd. In the drive they both didn't say any word .Jannet was busy texting and Darren was so concentrated with his dream he nearly hit a car but managed to dodge it ..the wheel made a squeaking sound when he turned  the steering wheel. Jannet was angry and terrified  how careless darren is behaving lately.

"Dude, you're suppose to make feel safe not scare me to death."
Jannet said

Darren kept quiet he didn't even apologised

"Ok you betta start talking. what's with you today? "

'It's non of your bussiness" he replied rudely

She uses the cliché threat " ok fine, im telling my dad"

"Whatever" was all jannet received.

Jannet was so annoyed that she ignored him and went back to texting

After some minutes of silence Darren finally spoke

"How dare your sister?"

"Excuse me?" Jannet turns to darren .she had never been more confused and concerned about her sister

"She don't have the right to do this to me"

"What did she do? Did you guys had a fight already? I'm gonna kill you if you lay your hands on my sister" she said brutally

"it's your sister who did this to me. How can she be so  cold when she already Lost her boyfriend . How dare she used me?"

Jannet was so shocked by what she just heard because her sister and Darren just met yesterday for the first time ever and she cannot put the pieces together how the both had a fight.She had no idea Darren was talking about his dream which he was so possessed with.

"Dude,what boyfriend are you talking about? Amber hadn't had. boyfriend since my best friend died which was five years ago.If she had she would have told me. And how did you know she lost his boyfriend? She never talks about this to anyone . why did she tell you?..How did you guys even had a time to discuss this serious matter?" she demands glazing a deadly look on darren

"What?"... Darren came back to his sensed and was shook by a secret that's been just revealed.
"She lost his boyfriend for real?"

"Wait! wait! you're confusing me right now..You were talking about my sister's dead boyfriend right?"

"He's dead...?"

"What? Wait dude what are you saying? were you even talking about my sister.? " she asks Darren

"Kind of. How did he die?"..darren went along  with jannet because he was already curious

"Didn't she tell you this part?"

"No"
 
"I don't know if I should be telling you this but if she already revealed her secret half then I guess it's fine..After my best friend died her big brother went into drugs and all that bad shits then he also died the next year of overdose"

"So you mean to say your friend's big brother was Amber's boyfriend?"...darren was now calm

"Yes"

"Is this conversation  we're having a big secret?"

"What do you mean?"

"I was talking bout my bad dream where I saw your sister trying to kill me" he half lied

"What? You were talking about your bad dream?"...she shouts at Darren

By this time darren was back to his normal self and couldn't stop laughing at Jannet

Jannet was so furious at Darren for letting her reveal a secret

"Then why were you talking about Amber's boyfriend? " she asked

"Maybe it was just a coincidence"

"Things like coincidence does not exist"...she shouts at darren

"You just had a  proof that it does now..." he jokes

They reached the office of her  photoshoot ...

Jannet storms off warning Darren not to follow her today
But darren followed her anyway because he had to keep her safe yet he was still disturbed by what he  heard from Jannet that nothing's a coincidence. To be honest he was still dwelling in his dream and trying to make sense of  why he had such a horrifying dream although by by now he was able to keep his composure now.
