"Jeremy come on" Evan whines at me, on his knees begging for my help.
"I already told you I'm not asking Connor out for you, you need to do it yourself." I reply, walking away from him. He gets off the floor, rushing after me.
"Please, you don't even have to ask him I just need your help to set us up. I'll return the favour." He says and I stop dead in my track, shifting my body so that it is turned round to face him. I put my hand near my lips, thinking about what I could ask him to do before an idea comes to mind, a light bulb seeming to go off in my head.
"Okay-" I don't even get to finish before he starts to jump around the room in excitement. "But you have to help me get with Michael." I finish and he stops, his face suddenly drawing of colour and his eyes flashing with anxiety.
"Jer...you know I have anxiety! How am I...How am I supposed to set you two up." He stutters out, his face panicked.
"Come on Michael doesn't care you have anxiety but if you don't want to then I guess I can just cancel our deal-" I begin to trail off, turning my back to him and beginning to leave, counting to three.
One.
Two.
Three.
"No, no wait." He says urgently. A smile plasters on my face and I turn round, his too predictable.
"I'll...I'll help you." He stutters out causing my smile to widen.
"Great. Each other's wingman right?" I ask, holding my hand out to shake with his to signal our agreement.
"Right." He replies, shaking my hand and I leave, getting straight to work, pulling my phone out of my pocket and calling Connor.
"Jeremy, what's up?" He asks.
"It's Evan." I reply bluntly, no expansion.
"What...what's wrong? Is he okay?" He stutters out, his voice laced with worry.
"His fine, don't worry but I need you to meet me at that Orchard you two go to." I say, my plan in motion, rolling my eyes at his clear obliviousness about his feelings towards my brother. This will be a piece of cake.
"Okay I'll be there in 15." He replies and I smile, heading to the orchard, arriving to find Connor already there when I arrive.
"Hey." I say, walking up to him. He spins on his heel, his face still full of worry but I'm not surprised considering I gave him no context about our meeting.
"Why am I here Jeremy." He asks, folding his arms across his chest, his face clearly showing he is not in the mood. I grab a piece of paper out of my back pocket, one I quickly wrote before I left and pass it to him.
"This is from Evan." I say, smiling at the contents inside. His eyebrows knit in confusion "Why couldn't he just give it me himself." He grumbles, a slight smile still evident on his face.
"Well that's for me to know, and you to find out." I smirk, walking off, not caring about his shouts, leaving Connor to the open the note to find a note from Evan, who's handwriting I forged, which was a pretty good forgery if I say so myself remembering the contents.
Dear Connor Murphy,
I don't know how to say this but I really like you and I was too scared to tell you but if you like me too, meet me at the orchard tomorrow, at dawn.
