Chapter 21 Stepping Out The Shadows Part2

Gray's POV: I was playing some table games and not doing too well for myself but also I wasn't horrible but then I saw Seth and Lucy walk over and Seth just decides to play 3 table games side by side. He rolled the dice and got winning numbers then called Red 35 on the wheel and got it and then he sat down for a hand of poker and ended up winning the large pot proving yet again that he is quite amazing. I see everyone at each of the game tables who lost to him are shocked speechless so I just smirk as we all continue to have fun, Erza and Seth end up being the teams biggest winners.

Late into the night the tv is turned on and everyone stops to watch and wait for the countdown to the new year and as I look around Seth had vanished. "If you're looking for our prince I think I heard him say he was going to the roof balcony to stargaze." Erza says as she looks at me out the side of her eye. I then head to the elevator and take it to as high as it can go and then take the stairs the rest of the way to the rooftop. Once I open the door there I see him by the balcony looking longingly at the starry sky and so I just walk over.

"What's up." He says as he hears footsteps draw close to him. "Came to check on you and why aren't you inside with the rest counting down the new year, I reply calmly." "Just grew used to celebrating on my own is all plus I wanted to have a clear head when I did this, Seth says as he grips the rail hard." "Did what exactly, I ask with a curious face." "Step out of the shadows of doubt, swallow my fears and be truthful with myself regardless of how the recipient may react." Seth says as he shakes from gripping the railing so hard. I just stand and wait for him to continue.

"I have grown feelings for someone in the guild more specifically someone in our team, Seth says nervously. "I've liked them even before I joined the guild and since joining them on jobs the feelings grew into a craving of being together a longing to care about them and protect them if need be. I've pushed my feelings away as I was nervous to say or do anything when around them." Seth says before looking at his phone in his pocket and the crowds around the building start counting down.

5! "Not anymore no more hiding the truth."4! "Not caring how they may react" 3! he let's go of the railing and turns to look at me. 2! He walks up close to me. 1! "My crush is you." He says as he kisses me on the cheek. "Happy New Year Gray." He says softly before running away.

Seth's POV: I did it I finally did it and told him my feelings. Is what's running through my head as I run away in fear of the answer as I just told Gray that he was my crush. I manage to find Lucy and Erza both hanging by the bar in the game room. "Well, girls I finally told him just like I said I would and thanks for keeping this secret from the rest of the team." I say as I order myself an extra large Shirley Temple to drink.

"So what happened we want details on how you told him and did he give you an answer or did you just run after you told him." Lucy says as she gets a gleam in her eyes. I then sit with them in a corner and tell them how I did it and that I decided not to wait for his answer as I felt I did what I set out to do. The girls squeak loudly as I tell them I kissed Gray on his cheek. "Oh wow Seth that's so amazing I wish I was a fly on the wall during that, Erza says mischievously."

I eventually finish my drink and so we all head upstairs as I bid the girls goodnight to head to our rooms. I walk into mine and take a hot shower to relax, as I'm just about finished showering I hear the room door unlock and open so I just assume it's Gray so I step out the bathroom and avoid eye contact with him. I just slip under the covers and turn away. "There is plenty of hot water left if you were thinking of taking a shower before turning in." I say as I fall asleep.
