To say Jiseok was taken aback could not justify his feelings.
After spending years trying to change what's done for worst, Jiseok felt surge of anger coarsing through his blood. All he did was hope and pray for a miracle. He could do nothing but say soothing words infront of back window. Assuring nothing but thin air.
"Jungkook-shi you are clearly upset. But without knowing the truth, it is not reasonable to raise your finger on me"
"You faced something unusual for one time only and look at you, looking like a lost pup already" Jiseok smirked at a very offended Jungkook. Before he could interupt him he continued in a calm yet dangerous tone.
"I, on other hand, not only witnessed but felt the pain of victim. What you saw scared you for your life. What I saw Jungkook-shi, it did not allowed me to have another moment of peace." He ended in a firm tone.
If Jungkook wanted to rant his feelings out, he was utterly disappointed. The sudden realisation of presence of a "victim" made him feel guilty. But that doesn't give anyone authority to let his life be endangered, right? He might be selfish but at least he has got a fair explanation.
"Jiseok, I apologise for my behaviour. And I thank you for taking care of me. But I better leave now as my stamina is bit better. I will stay with a friend in village before I leave".
Jiseok just solemnly nodded at Jungkook's decision. He knew there are things which cannot be forced to be felt unless the person wants to. Sympathy, being one of them.
"Alright Jungkook-shi. Your all things are here. Feel free until you want to leave". After saying that Jiseok again left him alone in room.
What felt like ages, Jungkook finally moved. After checking all his gadgets and belongings he hummed in satisfaction. He was about to turn to change when he felt it again making him buckled down.
The same sadness making his heart beat fastly. Sadness so deep he could feel his bones chattering. "What's wrong with you? We will be fine" he tried to calm down his agitated heart against sudden gush of emotions.
"No".
Jungkook was once again startled. He swore he heard a small whisper, barely inaudible. A new surge of emotions hits him again and he back steps holding his heart.
His back makes contact with book shelf behind pulling him back to reality.
THUD. THUD. THUD.
One after another books fell on floor with the impact. Internally groaning he bends down to pick the heavy old books.
A thick envelope falls from one particular black book on his feet."What is that?" Jungkook questions before picking it up to see anything related when his breath hitched over an unknown sender's name.
"Park Jimin"
