As Hamza started reminiscing about it all, a flood of emotions that he was carrying with him all these years finally broke out. He was narrating the most haunting moments of his life to a complete stranger, yet she listened.
The memories that he shared with his friends were flashing infront of his eyes. How could he ever forget them?

15th December 2014.
It was a chilly evening in Peshawar, yet the Shah House was all lit up."Aloo, will you please increase the volume a little bit? You are totally killing the vibe of this Tears For Fears song!" Hamza threw a cushion straight into Aliyan's face.
"How many times have I told you not to call me that?" Aliyan scowled at him. "And by the way, need I remind you that the plan was to gather at your place for a group study?"
"Always the buzzkill! Loosen up yaar, it's our last exam tomorrow! Who cares?" Zaviyar scoffed.
"Yeah! Its not everyday that you take your last Matric exam and then have a huge winter break after!" Salaar raised his head from the mobile.
"Ok why don't you put your lazy self to something useful and get me another can of Coke?" Hamza tried to keep Aliyan busy.
As soon as he left the room, they discussed Aliyan's surprise party which was planned to happen on the day of their last exam.
"Guys, we have to be at Aliyan's place after school at 4 pm sharp. Ok?" Hamza instructed.
"Yeah don't worry, I talked to uncle and he's gonna prepare it all and keep Aliyan distracted." Salaar whispered.
"And nobody's gonna wish him at 12 am today. We are gonna pretend as if we don't even remember. After all its his 16th birthday. It has to be epic." They laughed along.
Four 16 year old boys, planning to make their last exam the most memorable. Little did they know that it's going to become their worst nightmare. Fate had planned something completely opposite to their celebrations.
--------------------------------------------------------- 16th December 2014.
Hamza suddenly woke up and sat up straight. His whole face was covered in beads of sweat and his breathing was ragged. He saw himself covered in blood and all injured. He immediately started reciting some of the ayats of Quran. It was almost 7 so he decided to get ready for school. He tried his best to not think about the horrific nightmare but it was constantly distracting him.
It was 8 am when the chaos of the school was at it's peak. Kids running here and there, they had no care in the world about anything.
"Hey Aloo! Please will you help me in the questions of Macbeth? You know I hate that chapter!" Hamza suddenly appeared out of nowhere casually.
"Hmm." Aliyan was already pissed off at them for "forgetting" about his birthday.
Hamza winked at his friends, as he was laughing inside at Aliyan's cluelessness.
The clock struck 8:30 am, the objective papers had been distributed. The boys quietly started filling it.
"Psst! Zavii, do you know the answer of MCQ no 10?" Hamza whispered quietly.
"I have no clue myself" Zaviyar explained to him in sign language.
It was that obnoxious moment when they heard a blast outside in the school ground. And then numerous gun shots following them. They blankly looked at each other, unaware of everything going on outside.
After a few minutes, the doors of the auditorium were barged open by a few men who had rifles in their hands and had bomber jackets on. They had their whole faces covered with a black cloth. They pointed the gun straight at them. And then the unthinkable happened.
