"Tanner family!" An FBI agent yelled. My parents turned to look at him, but I remained glowering over William Kei, who had given up on standing for the time being. "We are not here to kill, no matter how threatened. Remember that you will also receive punishment for any murderous and vulgar actions."

"Is that challenge—"

"—or a threat?"

Mom and I instantly turned to look at each other, noticing how we said the same thing at the same time. Her purple and grey eyes shined brightly, almost like she was proud of me for taking after her in this state of power. I held my breath for a second, and everyone else was staring now as well, shocked at what we said in sync. One thing flashed in my mind, but I didn't understand why it was an instinct to blame it on this.

The blood of the Blood Assassin dynasty.

The ones who have the blood of our dynasty often times will have the same thoughts as others. Maybe not said out loud, but it's true that our blood makes us more in sync than any other traditional family.

Papa interrupted our staring contest, saying, "Carl, we got this. No need to worry." His hazel eye began to glow dimly, and I felt a shiver run down my spine when he activated his Deceiver attribute. There were a few more screams outside, likely due to the guards seeing... horrendous hallucinations. Kissing the top of Mom's head, he looked at the FBI agents and said, "We can handle this. Bring the rest of your crew during this time I'll give you."

They started to glow green from a snap, and immediately, they disappeared out of sight.

"Guess you know what that means," Julia said in a sweet voice. She pounded a fist into her hand, and she too began to surge with energy. "It's been a while since I've fought someone out of excitement."

"I-I won't let you hurt William!" Dexter exclaimed, making us all turn to him, "I'll do anything and everything in my power to make sure you don't even touch him!"

Leo growled under his breath at Dexter's statement, as if it irked him physically and mentally. He stepped forward towards him and told us, "Back off on this kid, you guys." His blue eyes turned orange, flickering between the two colors like they usually did. "He's mine to handle."

"I'll take the stockpile of guards outside and try to evacuate everyone," Julia volunteered, opening the door of the office. She waved her hand, and I saw the thin strands of gold hanging from her fingers as she added, "I want to test my Marinette attribute on the debris downstairs~..!"

As she skipped off happily, Papa turned to Mom, who nodded back. "We'll deal with—"

"He's my fight," I interrupted them, stepping on William Kei's throat to make sure he wouldn't try to move as I talked. "Before you say anything, I'm not a kid anymore. Besides, I can take him on myself." I looked up at them, seeing their unconvinced and concerned gazes, and threw in, "You two can go make sure no one will die during this and help Julia with evacuation."

Mom was still unsure and looked hesitant to leave, but Papa slowly guided her out the door, saying, "Don't worry. If anything were to happen, Leo would jump in and help. She's our daughter. She's got this."

I saluted my parents, watching as they disappeared behind the door.

Immediately, I stared down William Kei, my eyes glowing brightly as I muttered, "The real fight begins."

"You've made a mistake," he spat back, grabbing my foot by the ankle.

In a flash of green, I pulled away from him and kicked his jaw where I had punched him earlier. His body rolled over roughly, landing beside his desk.
