💸Download Acorns. This is an app that you can get that will round every purchase you buy to higher dollar, and invest it in multiple areas of the stock market. This is money you will most likely not notice being gone and you may take it out at any time.
💸Pay for things in full. Things like car insurance will give you huge discounts when you pay for things in full. Like instead of monthly, annually.
💸Thrifting for clothes. People have always thought that thrift shopping is only for people with low incomes and is very ugly. But I honestly think that the perception of that is changing. People have asked me to go thrift shopping with them for fun, even my mom. Thrift shopping is almost becoming a hobby. You have a certain amount of money, search through countless racks, and come out feeling accomplished. It saves a lot of money if you replace shopping retail with thrift too.
💸Stop spending money on unnecessary things. Eating out twice a week? Try eating out once. Wanting to buy a new makeup product? Search for the cheap dupes instead. Little things like that can make all the difference.
💸Pay yourself. Take what you make for that week or month then figure out how much money you absolutely need. See how much you have left after you cover your absolute necessities. Figure out how much of that you want to save. I typically do it by cutting the extra money I have in half, one half to spend and another to put to savings.
💸Walmart=everything. Walmart is dirt cheap for products that aren't half bad. Buy almost everything you can tolerate from there.
💸Rewards programs. A lot of places have rewards programs that don't require you to open a credit card, all you have to do is tell them you have an account and eventually you will earn something out of it. Just don't fall into the trap of ending up spending more money than normal to get the reward. You will get there naturally.
💸Live with roommates/parents. If you can bear this, have a roommate or live with a parent to half or eliminate bills. Put what you would normally spend in savings. This method adds up far quicker than almost any method of saving money you can use.
💸Sign up for email subscriptions. These are kind of similar to rewards programs except the emails typically send you coupons.
💸Get coupons from newspapers, google, or apps. I know there are apps such as groupon and retailmenot. Newspapers for grocery stores are essential. Learn how to extreme coupon! At least, if you have the time.
