12. Big Brother

-Later that night-

Alex Pov.

"You can ignore me all you want it's not going to stop the fact that I am your big brother" Damon lectures while pacing back and forth in from of the fire place while I sat on the couch.

"Alex we just want to know what's wrong. we want to help you out but you have to stop shutting Damon and I out of your life." Stefan says rewording what Damon previously said.

I look at them and stay silent.

" Dam it Alexandria! You better tell me what is wrong!" Damon says crouching down meeting me eye to eye and giving me a irritated stare. "Listen, we were supposed to keep you safe back in 1864 but...."

And then I exploded. I cut Damon off and stood up "BUT you didn't, you failed and I died in Katherine's hands with no desire of becoming a vampire!!" I scream at both at them. "It's no difference if I tell you what my problem is you will mess it up and let me down once more" I exclaim with all my emotion.

"Alex you have to understand that was the past" Stefan says while Damon is still dumbfounded by my sudden outburst.

"Well you two sure like to repeat the past." I whisper, hinting about Elena.

They both stay silent.

"I'm exhausted and I have school tomorrow I'm going to bed" I say with no emotion as I make my way up stairs.

"Good night" Stefan says

"Yeah whatever." I reply

Damon's Pov.

"Well our sister is sure letting out all her hatred toward us now" I say pouring my self a glass of bourbon.

" Damon, let her get used to the fact that she now has both of her brothers back in her life. She just needs time." Stefan says as he sits down on the resting chair

"Of course! Time. You want me to give her time! YOU knew she was alive since the 20s! and you didn't say a word to me!! I SHOULD BE PISSED AT YOU! You hid this from me. My own sister." I shout but whisper the last sentence.

"Damon you have to understand she wasn't her normal self back when I found out she was alive, she was basically raised most if not all of her vampire life by Katherine, she fed on people with no remorse, and didn't even look at her victims as food but as toys she could mess with. She was emotionless." Stefan explains gently

"KATHERINE took our sister from us, OUR INNOCENT, CARING, AND LOVABLE SISTER!" I say tensing up so much that I crush my glass of bourbon.

-In the Middle of the Night-

Damon's Pov.

I walk up the stairs towards Alex's bedroom. I quietly open the door trying not to wake Alex up. As I walk closer to her bed I can see her curled up like when she was only a toddler. Every time I see her all I see is a broken girl trying to cover her past and all because of my obsession with Katherine. That is the only reason I'm just trying to keep her safe because I feel like all this is my fault, her hurt is all my fault. I slowly kiss her forehead and she stirs a little. I sit down on the chair that is right next to her bed and just remember the days when no girls or supernatural creatures were involved and all Stefan and I had to worry about our baby sister having nightmares.
