Dear diary,

What a crazy few weeks it has been, I don't really know what to think. I had just started back at uni when my parents wanted to sit me down and "talk" one day after I got home from a lecture this is unusual for my parents as I usually stick to myself I occupy one side of the house while they use the other half the only time we usually see each other is at dinner and we don't talk my dad is glued to the TV and mum is glued to her iPad while I sit there and eat as fast as I can and then go back so my room and study. So when they said they wanted to talk I was a bit nervous (what is it about?)

Josiah (Dad):"Sophie, your mum and I are getting a divorce"

Sophie: "What! Why? I mean why now?"

Peobie (Mum):"We have grown apart, you're father and I and we haven't made love in over five years"

Sophie: "ewww not something I needed to know".

And this was the start of my whole world crumbling that I have know for the last 18 years life.

I didn't go to uni for a week after I found out the news I couldn't even bring myself to get out of bed for the first three days my whole world was about to change and not how I had expected or wanted it to.

My best mate Kaileah came over to see if I was okay after I hadn't turned up to uni or returned her calls or text messages. She was shocked when she heard the news. Kaileah and I had been best mates since year 2 we did everything together you couldn't find two people with so much in common as us we are even studying the same course at uni to become script writers we want to get into theaters and do work like swan lake.

Kaileah: "Oh Sophie I am so sorry to hear, what happened? I thought they where happy they always seemed happy when ever I came around for sleep overs."

Sophie: "I don't know, I mean I know we weren't ever very social together but I thought that was just because we didn't really have much to talk about they have never really been interested in what I have to say about uni even though they say they are I know they aren't."

Sophie: "Now they are talking about settling the house and asking who I want to live with etc., I'm 18 this kind of thing isn't supposed to happen when you are my age your parents are supposed to wait until you have a uni degree behind you and then enjoy their retirement once you have flown the coop."
