After Jennifer leaves my room to make breakfast for the boys I get up and head to the bathroom so I can take a shower. After getting out of the shower I slip on some loose shorts and a tank top and I throw my hair up in a bun. I put on my house slippers and head downstairs for some breakfast.
I enter the kitchen and I put a piece of bacon in my mouth.
“ Hey Jennifer.” I say. “ And boys.” I say grudgingly.
“ Hey Sweetpea.” She says, not noticing the anger in my voice.
“ Hey Destiny.” I hear a chorus of voices and a few whistles.
I go and sit down at the table and I sit cross legged. Across the table I see Parker smirking. “ Oh hey, Parker. I didn’t see you there. “ I say to him and he says something under his breath that I think is either “ Bitch or trick.” But Jennifer sends him a glare that silences not only him but every boy at the table. I feel Nicholas staring at me and I feel self conscious.
“ So boys, How come none of you have been talking to Destiny? “ Jennifer asks while cutting her pancake.
“ I’ll do more than talk with Destiny.” Joseph says, before he winks at me.
“ Me too.” Jaden and Josh say together before highfiving each other.
“ I have better things to do then hang out with some girl.” Parker says. I don’t know why but for some reason that makes me tear up.
“ Parker Allen, Destiny is not just some girl, you’ve known her your whole life. So quit that nonsense or leave this room immediately.” Jennifer says sternly. Parker gets up, puts his plate in the sink and leaves the room.
“ It’s okay Destiny.” Zachary says. I nod and I look at Nicholas, he just smirking at his plate.
Parker’s P.O.V.
“ Parker Allen, Destiny is not just some girl, you’ve known her your whole life. So quit that nonsense or leave this room immediately.” My mom says.
I look at Destiny and notice that her eyes are watering. I have to stop myself from wanting to get up and wipe the tear off of her beautiful face.
“ It’s okay Destiny.” My brother says, comforting her. That makes me want to punch him.
Why the hell do I have to be such a dick? Oh yeah, because Nicholas called dibs and if I mess around with her, Nicholas will tell everyone my secret to everyone at school and that can’t happen.
Destiny’s P.O.V.
After Parker left the table, Jennifer apologized for Parker and I continued to wonder why Parker is being so mean to me. I mean come on, I haven’t seen him for about thirteen years or so. What happened to the Parker that used to build sand castles with me?
I finish my food and I put my plate in the sink and I head upstairs. I put on a sweatshirt and I pick up my soccer ball and head outside. I look around outside and I look for some grass to play on. And then I see it. “ Do you like it?” I jump in surprise and turn around to see Mr. Allen.
“ Oh my god, you scared the crap out of me.” I say, clutching my heart.
“ Sorry, Me and Jennifer decided we’d have a soccer field built for you, so you can play out here.” I was really starting to wonder where he was too.
“ Wait, you mean this soccer field is for me? “ I say, he nods. “ Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Mr. Allen.” I exclaim and I give him a hug.
“ Call me Robert. And it really wasn’t much. Your like a daughter I never had.”
“ Do you want to play?” I ask him.
“ Of course, if you don’t mind. I’ll be using this field for practice as well.”
“ Practice? “ I ask.
“ Umm…. Well I play professional soccer. You didn’t know that? ” He says. And then it clicks.
“ Wait, Robert Allen as in Robert Allen.” I exclaim. I cannot believe that I didn’t know realize.
“ Yep.” He says in a “ Duh, you didn’t know that.”
“ Oh my gosh I would love to play soccer with you.” I say.
I drop the ball on the ground and he kicks it from underneath my feet and makes a goal in the air. I stare star struck before I sprint to the end of the field and I begin to maneuver myself to the other side of the field. I kick the ball straight into the goal.
“ Yeah.” I exclaim. After two and a half hours of playing Robert wins me with 29-30. I turn to head to the house and I see almost the entire Allen family except for Parker gathered around.
“ Your some hot stuff.” Joseph says giving me his signature wink. I just shake my head.
“ Hey Destiny, do you think you can teach me how to play.” I turn around to see Jaden. I look him over and I see a genuine smile on his face.
“ Of course I can. “ I say.
“ Thanks.” Josh and Jaden run off in a opposite direction and I head into the house.
