I wanna tell the truth to you
I wanna talk about my days as a youth to you
Exposing you to all my demons
And the reasons I'm this way
I would like to paint a picture,
But it'll take more than a day

"Who is Evelyn?"

When the words came out of Remi's mouth, Omari could feel his heart drop. It was a name he never expected to hear come out of Remi, at least not like this anyway. Upon his return to New Jersey, Omari was so focused on coming back to his care-free, happy life, he didn't even think twice about the situation that had happened in Louisiana. Like he had continuously mentioned, New Jersey was his safe haven, and the fact that his demons were starting to invade that didn't sit right with him. He needed to be able to live freely here to stay sane, but it was obvious, it wasn't happening like that.

"Huh?" Omari blurted out, trying his hardest not to tug at his curls like typically did when he was nervous.

"Huh?" Remi jumped at him, "You heard me Omari, don't start the lying shit now. Why did a woman name Evelyn call your phone and say you left her and your son?"

Omari didn't say anything because he wasn't ready to. As easy as it sounded to just tell her everything, it was like he couldn't. It was a sticky situation for him in his head. While he had made a few plans to tell Remi about his past—including the trifecta of Hailey, Evelyn, and Tristian—He didn't plan on telling her about Brayden just yet. Not until he got the DNA results for himself first. What if he told her and she broke things off, only for Brayden not to be his?

Now though, he didn't have a choice. As much as he wasn't ready too, he knew there was only so much he could hold off on telling Remi about his current predicament.

"Hello," Remi waved her hand in front of his face. Now she was starting to get frustrated because he wasn't speaking up.

"I don't want to talk about it right now," Omari mumbled.
