"Why are you here?"

I was in my room starting at a dripping wet Michael.

"Uh," he started trying to gather his words together.

I crossed my arms.

"I was just wondering if you were okay."

I was surprised. I was surprised at his sweetness. I know it's been a while, but Michael may not he the boy I knew he was. Maybe he changed?

"Um, yeah I'm alright."

Another awkward silence fell over us.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay," Michael said as he stared at his shoes.

I raised my eyebrows, "you came in the rain, into my house, to ask me if I was okay?"

Couldn't he have called or texted me? I looked at the clock, it was just passed 12:30.

I looked back to Michael realizing that he was basically dripping wet, I hurried over to my bathroom and grabbed him a quick towel.

I gave it to him and he shook his hair out.

"Uh, thanks" he stuttered out.

I looked over to my door again, making sure it was locked. Not usually, but sometimes my parents would come and see if I was really asleep or if I was just reading or something.

I was about to ask Michael why he came all the over to my house but my eyes were distracted as I turned to see Michael taking off his shirt.

Boy.

I tried to avert my eyes trying not to stare. JESUS CHRIST no stop thinking about him his way CMON Kaylie you can do this, just look the other way. Lol I wish I could. I quickly looked to my window the rain droplets falling in little patterns with the sound of them hitting the group filling the silence.

He threw his shirt over the chair as he wrapped the towel around himself.

"Uh sorry, I didn't think I just didn't want to be in that wet shirt," he stuttered out sort of awkwardly."

"Uh," I started, "uh no it's fine! Umm I think I have a tshirt of my brothers here somewhere."

I opened my drawer to find one of Graham's old shirts.

I was disappointed when I threw it at him and he swiftly put it on. Wait why was I disappointed, I don't like this kid.

"Uh so you're probably wondering why I'm here...at midnight," Michael started, I don't think I've ever heard him stutter this much before. Usually he's super smooth around all the girls at school and he's considered a "ladies man" but, he seemed sort of nervous.

I pursed my lips, "um yeah I guess, just a little."

You could pretty much feel the awkward from a mile away.

"Well I uh, I was just wondering if you were okay," Michael looked down at the floor.

"You came to see if I was okay?"

I suddenly became confused. Couldn't have just texted me or like talked to me tomorrow, or like have asked Calum to ask me?

"Yeah...I'm good?" I answered a little too cautiously.

"That's good, ugh, I'm sorry I came I should get going," Michael quickly walked passed me and bolted down the stairs as quietly as he could. I heard the back door shut and I ran to the window as I caught a glimpse of Michael running down the street once again being soaked by the rain.
