Everything seemed fine, my day job at the lab was going very smoothly and my newest project was almost complete. A drug. "One that would change the world." as I would say. My boss told me I could have the day off after I make the finishing tests to make sure it was ready to give to Galos, one of the leading world powers.

I went home, my wife was very eager to see me since it's been a week since she last saw me, our little girl sleeping in the crib in the living room. She asked how my week was and as usual, I could only answer with a good due to the fact I'd have to erase her memories if I told her any more than that. She made us dinner, a beautifully prepared lobster with risotto, two of my favorites.

After dinner I helped my wife to clean the dishes and put away any left overs. I gave our daughter a kiss goodnight and went up to the warmth of my own bed, followed by the warm embrace of the love of my life. Again she'd say, "Don't leave us for that long again.. You'll miss your daughter growing up otherwise." and I'd feel a tear trace down my back. I'm not one who is good with words, she knew that so all I could do was hold her hand softly until she fell asleep.

It was some days after when I got the worst call I could have possibly gotten, "Patient X has gone missing, the glass broken where she was supposed to be. We need you here as soon as possible. It's a code Nerigiri." I left as quickly as I could leaving a note for my wife. I got to the lab doors and went to the elevator to go down to the floor patient X was supposed to be. Before I even got to the floor the elevators gave off a smell I've never smelt before. A smell that would never escape me for as long as I live. Once the doors opened I found out what the smell was, bodies were torn apart and thrown everywhere around the lab. Some impaled to the wall, others hanging by some weird bone like hook from the ceiling that would be impaled in either the head of the chest.

I went straight for the security room to try to see if i could check the camera feed but the same bone like objects were impaled in all the screens and computers. My experiment was a failure and I might have just doomed the world if X gets out. I grabbed a shotgun from the weapons locker that has been broken open and grabbed ammunition as well. I went out and was now on a hunt, the place was eerie and dead silent. No pun intended.

I sweeped the floors, no signs of survivors and the people who came in probably from a call just vanished soon after I sent them away to search elsewhere. No screams, just silence and a new body to add to the count once I found them. Each body grew more fresh as I kept following, the feeling that I was being watched grew with each step I took.

That's when I came across a room, one I was all too familiar with. It was a recreation of my daughters playroom, blood and bodies everywhere and a teenage girl standing in the middle of them, blood streaming down her face. She was covered in blood, a bone slowing forming from her skin into her hand. "Daddy..?" A weak voice said to me. A voice I didn't want to hear in this situation, because it was the voice of my only daughter. Or as the lab knew her, Patient X.

I did something a father should have never done, but I was desperate and she was only a baby at the time. So, I messed around with my wifes memories and altered them so shed always think our child was a baby and that we were still a young married couple. Been that way for 13 years now. I never thought it would end like this. I looked at the man who was her freshest kill, the one right in front of her feet. My brother, and the one I got the call from. The one who was supposed to be closer to her than even her own father. Karma truly is a bitch huh..?

"Yes Fraya, it's daddy.. Everything is going to be ok now. We can finally go home and see mommy now. Just, calm down now, daddys here. It's gonna be ok now.." I said, strapping the gun i had to my back to show I mean her no harm.
