Taking a cautious glance at the people around us, Sherlock took a step closer to me and quietly said, "Listen, Jane, London is in danger. There is an imminent terrorist attack and I need your help."
I scoffed, looking at a man that just walked into the shop with a "can you believe this guy?!" expression. Not believing Sherlock, I asked, "My help? You've managed to defeat this criminal system all around the world and you need my help for something?"
Sherlock's eyes narrowed as he silently deduced my body language and reaction to his offer, smiling slowly.
"You've missed this," he pointed out simply, his eyes softening. "Admit it. The thrill of the chase, the blood pumping through your veins, just the two of us against the rest of the world."
"I can't go back to that if you'll end up hurt again," I whispered, my voice cracking. I didn't have the courage to say "dead."
"Jane, you know I can't promise that," he said, cupping my face in his hands.
"I'll lose you again, you know that? I lost you before, then I lost Adam, and who knows how likely it is I'll lose you once more." I contained my sobs, only letting out small ones and shedding tears.
Sherlock retracted his hands before looking around at everyone else in the kebab shop before reaching inside his Belstaff coat pocket and pulling out a ring and holding it in his fingers. My one hand flew over my mouth and I let out a gasp, looking down at the ring and back up at Sherlock.
"I know this is the worst timing I could this at but please at least consider the possibility of marrying me," Sherlock said with a small smile.
I did. I'm considering the possibility of getting married to Sherlock Holmes. A part of me wants to say no, but only because that part doesn't know what the future might hold between the two of us.
"Sherlock, I . . . " My voice failed to answer the question. "Yes," I said in a whisper.
Sherlock let out a small laugh before embracing me and I teared up once more. Pressing my lips against his, we struggled to multitask between kissing and putting the ring on my finger. No one in the shop seemed to pay attention, but at this point, I didn't care. I was marrying Sherlock Holmes. Looking down at the ring, I admired all the little details. It was a gold band with a circular diamond in the middle; simple yet so unique all at once.
An epiphany occurred. "Lestrade or Mrs. Hudson don't know you're alive, right?" I asked.
"No. You're the first person I was going to tell," he answered.
"Are you going to propose to them too?" I asked with a smile.

Stepping out of the shadows in an underground car park, my heel clicks echoed, catching Greg's attention as he was about to light a cigarette. "Those things'll kill you, ya know," I said as I walked up to him, nodding towards the cigarette in his hand. "Scotland Yard wouldn't be the same without their Detective Inspector."
"What are you doing here?" he asked, lowering his lighter.
"Introducing you to an old friend," I answered with a shrug. As if on cue, Sherlock emerged from the shadows like I did, and Greg's eyes widened.
"Ooh, you bastard!" he exclaimed, putting away his cigarette and lighter before embracing Sherlock in a tight hug. As he did so, Sherlock grimaced like he was in pain as Greg hugged him tightly, but why? I stood there, staring happily at the two as they seemed to make amends. before I had the chance to react, Greg pulled me into the hug too, which I took by surprise.
