No One's POV
How do you tell someone you love them? Do you smile nervously and wave? Laugh with them and stare at their beautiful smile?
Well, right now Lance McClain was sitting next to Katie Holt. They had just finished a level of their video game, and Lance just made a funny comment.
Katie couldn't stop laughing. "Lance, we are adults.....and yet........you bring that up?!" Katie had said this in between her laughter.
It's true they were adults. Allura was gone. Keith was on a mission. Hunk was working at his restaurant. And Lance and Pidge were stuck at Lance's house playing video games. She was off that day and had decided to hang out with Lance.
Lance just loved her laugh so much, he had started to stare at her beautiful smile. He hadn't felt this way since Allura....which was about 5 years ago. Over the last 5 years, Lance and Pidge have gotten 'closer'.
Lance was snapped out of his thoughts when Katie had asked him 'what's wrong?'
"N-nothing. It's just.....I love it when you laugh." He blurted it out without thinking. Lance felt embarrassed, and Katie just sat there with a big blush on her face. None of her freckles were noticeable now.
"You're joking....right?" She said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Because I really hope you're not joking." Lance looked at her shocked. "Why would I joke about something like that?"
"I don't know! It's just...you always used to 'fake flirt' with girls when we were younger." She took her glasses off and set them beside herself.
"Oh, Katie. I love you so much. I would never 'fake flirt' with you." He smiled and hugged her, gently kissing her head.
"You are the only one who stood beside me and helped through the last 5 years. You didn't leave me. You might be busy a lot, but when you have off...like today, you decide to hang out with me. Like out of all the people you could hang out with, you choose me."
He lets go of her and sits back again, only this time holding her hands and rubbing his fingers over her knuckles.
"All I did was sulk over Allura. You helped me get over that though. You helped me through so much, I bet if you weren't here....I wouldn't be alive right now."
She looks at him with sad eyes and cuddles close to him, making him shocked.
He gently and yet slowly puts his arms around her and holds her close. Hoping that she won't go anywhere.
Hoping she will stay with him forever.
Because one thing is for sure.......Lance loves her smile.
