Junhui’s smile grew and grew as a light blush faded onto his cheeks. He may be an adult who has literally been a live for centuries, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not a baby who’s a sucker for things like this. After composing himself he gently placed the photo back on his desk and turned to his laptop screen determined to do as much research about flowers as he possibly could. Starting,of course, with the four roses in the picture.
He opened a new tab and immediately typed in pink rose meaning.
Quite a few sites showed up, but Junhui just clicked on the first one that came up. However, it turned out to be a site where he was prompted to buy pink roses. That wasn’t what he wanted, so he exited out of the website and went to open another one. But that one wasn’t what he wanted either. So after opening and closing a few different sites he finally found one that actually had all the different meanings to the different flowers and their meanings. The website's color scheme seemed to fit around light pinks and faded yellows. The designs were very floral (as expected) but the created a nice calming sense that made Junhui sigh. Finally, he found something. As he scrolled down he saw all different types of flowers in all different colors. They were all so pretty. And each one was so unique. He was in complete awe.
Through some more scrolling he finally found the rose section. The flowers were organized in rainbow order and the ombre that was created with each of colors added just a pleasing visual to the whole experience. After finding the pink rose he clicked on it and a cute little pop-up appeared on his screen. On this pop-up was a picture of a pink rose on the left and on the right was a bunch of words that explained what the flower meant.
Overall, pink roses are used to convey gentle emotions such as admiration, joy, and gratitude. Light pink rose blooms are indicative of sweet innocence. Deep pink rose blooms convey deep gratitude and appreciation. Pink roses also connote elegance and grace.
The blush on his face grew as he read certain words over a few times.
Admiration.
Gratitude.
Innocence.
He felt like he was discovering love for the first time. These feelings felt new. And the idea that Minghao could possibly feel admiration towards him created an ecstatic emotion to dwell inside of him. But he really needed to move on to the next flower before he started overthinking this one too much. So he closed out of the pop-up screen and looked through the rose section until he found lavender. Once he saw it, he clicked on it and a similar pop-up appeared on his screen. On this one it read,
Lavender rose, like it’s color, conveyes enchantment. It also expresses “love at first sight.” Darker shades of lavender can convey a sense of splendor and majesty. These roses are used to express fascination and adoration.
He thought that his heart couldn’t beat any faster after reading everything about about the pink rose, but that turned out to false as his pulse sped up as he saw the words “love at first sight.” Wonwoo and Seungcheol had criticized him for his emotions and told him that there’s no way he could have been right with everything he did, but now after seeing the things Minghao had done in return, it just set his heart aflame. The amount of thought that was put into this made him all giddy inside. He just couldn’t stop himself from wanting more. So he moved on to blue.
Blue roses are just as elusive as black roses. Blue roses cannot be achieved naturally so they represent the unobtainable or the mysterious. They say “I can’t have you but I can’t stop thinking about you.”
This one made Junhui’s emotions stumble a little. He thought it was odd for Minghao to think that any sort of relationship, whether that be dating or just a friendship, couldn’t happen between them. Especially since Junhui essentially made the first move. But then he thought, maybe he’s right. Afterall, Minghao is just a new model at the company the Junhui owns. That would be more than a bit suspicious to anyone on the outside of their relationship. They could think that Minghao is only using this advantage to climb the ropes faster nas cheat his way through the system. This could also be seen as Junhui taking advantage of his models. Using them for his own personal pleasure. He shivered at these thoughts. He would never do anything like that, but knowing how the media is, they would turn the whole thing around into something it’s not. The media could never be trusted, they never have the whole story. But Junhui believed they could work around this. They could get past this bump in the road, they just need to try. So he went to the final flower, orange.
Orange roses tend to remind people of a fiery blaze. These fiery blooms signify passion and energy. Orange roses can be used to express intense desire, pride, or fervor. They can also convey a sense of fascination. These Flowers only rival the red rose is messages of passion and romance.
He was right, no matter what anyone says, or what people think about this, there’s no way to deny the fact that they want to build a relationship together. No one else, just the two of them. They don’t need anyone else to have an input on what they become because it’s their relationship. Not anyone else's. And if Minghao feels rave enough to express his desire through flowers then Junhui will need to put in just as much effort to make sure that all of this doesn’t go to waste. He will fight for this. And nothing can get in his way.
