Next day at lunch

Melanie's P.O.V

I had the biggest smile on my face all day. I walked to the lunch table and everyone was there. Someone grabbed my arm and I turned it was nick. My skin jumped.

"Nick get away from me" I whisper. He shook his head.

"Melanie, please let me talk" he said. I pulled my arm away and looked at him unimpressed.

"Fine." I said. I crossed my arms.

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve to be treat that way. I was drunk and emotional. I'm really sorry. I truly mean it" He said. I looked at him unsure. Should I forgive him? I mean he has always treated me badly.

"I forgive you, if you ever put a hand on me. I swear" I said angrily. He nodded

"I understand" he said. I gave him a half smile. I begin to walk away. "Mel wait." I looked backs

"What?" I said.

"I know what's happening with you and Ross." He said quietly. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"I don't know what you are talking about" I said. He laughed.

"I know you and him better than you guys think. I'm surprised that your brother hasn't figured out but I guess I only know that look in your eye when you are in love." He said. I looked down from his gaze. Awkward because I did love Nick but not anymore.

"Okay. So..." I said.

"He isn't the person he makes you believe." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"Why would I believe you" I said and crossed my arms.

"Isn't Ross always a 10 minutes late to lunch for the past few weeks?" He said. I thought about it for a second and nodded. He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the one of the courtyards.

"Nick what even are you trying to get...." I said and I then saw Ross talking to another girl quietly talking. "at" I finished my sentence. They were at a table not close but close. She laughed at him and then he laughed back. They were talking intently. My heart broke. My day is ruined. Ross looks over at me and Nick. I shook my head and he was worried. I walked away. He got up to come to me. I ran away into the bathroom. I was on the verge of tears. I ran in the stall and cried. Why would I think to trust him.

Ross P.O.V

I was talking to jasmine about this surprise I was doing for Melanie. I was so excited but wanted to get an girl's input on it. Jasmine has know Melanie and I for seven years now.

"I want to then do this for the big question for prom" I said. She clasped her hands together and smiled.

"So perfect." She said. "You should also make it a big surprise so she doesn't expect it" I nodded. We have been planning this for a few weeks. Since we began our friend with benefits, I knew she was the one so I had to bring her to prom and ask in a big way. We have went through a lot of ideas.

"Okay, so I am going to start organizing it and planning." I said. She laughed.

"Yeah right."she said. I laughed back.

"You know me, you might want to help me with that." I said and I looked over at the two people staring at us. It's was Mel and Nick. She looked hurt and she then began shaking her head. What wrong? She began to walk away fast. I got up after her. She then began to run the bathroom. Nick stopped in front of me.

"You bitch" he said. "How do you treat her like that?" I rolled my eyes.

"What are you talking about?" I said and he is the one to talk too who cheated on her.

"You are cheating on Mel." He said. I shook my head.

"No I am not." I said "I was planning to ask her to prom on a special way. I would never do such a thing to her." I yelled. "You are unbelievably selfish." I ran to the women's bathroom door.

"Mel" I said loudly and bang on the door. The door swung out and girl looked at me weirdly. I stepped aside and let her walk by. I cracked the door. "Mel please talk to me. I need to explain." I heard a stall door open and sniffing. I heard footsteps walk towards the door.

"Ross. I can't even." She said and walked past me. I grabbed her hand.

"Baby, listen it's not what you think." I said and wiped her tears from her face. She looked at me upset. "Jasmine was helping me with something for you." She furrowed her eyebrows.

"What is it?" She said. She crossed her arms. I smiled and blushed then rubbing my neck.

"I can't tell you but I promise nothing is not happening between jasmine and I. I swear I would never do that to you. You mean so much" I said. He grabbed my hands and kissed my lips. She smiled in them and nodded.

"Thank you. I trust you." She said. I am so glad and that's so good. I never want to lose that trust. She is so special and great in my life.

"Good baby. I never want to lose your trust" I said and she goes close to my body and wraps her arms around her neck. She then kisses me gently.

"Don't give me a reason not to trust you and we shall be good" she said. I nodded I will never.
