Chapter 6

"So Clem are you ready to see if you made the team or not?" Brody asked.

"Yeah I feel like I'm going to make the team but at the same I don't think I'm gonna make it."

"Why you say that?"

"Well for starters I'm a girl not a dude. Then there was this morning with the teacher."

"Oh the coach is most likely going to make you do get rights." Louis said.

"What's that?"

"It's where you have to run the whole track with either a ball or a weight and you drop do a push up and continue running how many laps the coach wants you to do, but if you don't finish you have to do it all over again until you finish." Violet explained.

"Damn."

"I know right I had to do that once." Mitch said.

"That must've been tough."

"Yeah I'm sure as hell not going through that again."

"Okay here it is Clem." I look back at them then back at the sheet on the wall.

"Go for it girl." Omar says. I walk closer to see if I made it. Yes I made it! I kinda wanna with them a bit. I sighed and pretended to be upset.

"I didn't make it." I said.

"No you your joking. There's no way you didn't make the team." Ruby said.

"I'm just playing with you guys I made the team!"

"Don't do that!" Violet yelled and slapped me on the shoulder.

"Sorry guys I wanted to mess with you guys."

"I knew you gonna make it!" Louis yelled. "I can predict the future."

"Please stop Louis you're embarrassing yourself." Violet said.

"Oh hush."

"Congratulations." Minnie said from the back. We all turned around and looked at her. Oh she actually wants to congratulate me? This is so fake. I closed my eyes and sigh I opened them slowly and and smile.

"Thanks Minnie that means a lot."

"No problem."

We in the lunch room talking while Louis on the other side if the table acting like a retard. I look up and I saw my coach near the door. I quickly looked down so she wouldn't see me. "Clem what's wrong?" Brody asked.

"I just saw my coach and I don't want her to see me."

"Why?"

"I don't wanna do get rights." I look up to see her looking dead at me. She waves me over and she walks out. I get up.

"Where are you going?" Violet asked.

"The coach. She needs me." She nods.

"Oohh... some is in trouble."

"Shut up Mitch." I walk outside of the cafeteria. The coach walks up to me and leans on the wall. She sighs.

"So your teacher called and she said you causing trouble in class. What's up with that?"

"Honestly I don't even know why I did it I just kinda snapped."

"Why what did she do?" I don't why but she started laughing.

"Why are you laughing?"

"I don't know I just imagined how she looked when you snapped."

"The reason I snapped on her is because she all she does is talk, and the class don't have enough time to finish work she's always trying to give me a zero or make it late. Then she gets mad when I don't want to listen her talk about things that's even about the subject. She's so annoying. Then says it's because people are always talking in class, and it'snot even the whole class it's like five people and she knows who it is." She nods.

"I understand what your talking about, and honestly we're very fond of each other because I am very impatient and I can be very childish. She can get on my nerves like most of time, but I don't say anything. When something like that happens just don't say anything because that will get you trouble and it will prevent you from doing things that you want to do, like if you get a detention or to many write ups then you have to sit out on some of the Baseball games or stay inside. You're a good player and that's why I put you on the team because I feel like you you can really help us and maybe even change the rules for Baseball for good. You have to change you're behavior first."

"So you're not going to make me do get rights?"

"No, but I might have to make you do it next time."

"Thanks." She smiles and walks away. I walked back to the cafeteria.

"So what happened out there?"

"Nothing. She's not making me do get rights. She just said don't do it again."

"Really?"

"Yeah Vi you know chill that coach is." Marlon said.

"One thing you don't want to do is piss her off." Ruby said.

"True."

"Oh my gosh guys I just though of something!" Louis yelled out of no where.

"Oh no Louis what is it?" Violet rolled her eyes.

"We should celebrate, for Clementine."

"Um why?"

"Because you're the first girl in this damn school to make the Baseball team." Is this boy serious right now?

"Ummm... I don't know."

"You know what, I actually think we should actually throw a party." Violet said.

"Yeah, but will your parents be okay with this?"

"Probably not but they are going out. But if they end up coming home nothing will really happen. I mean yeah my dad will yell at me, but mom will smack him in the back of the head."

"So it's just all of us?"

"Hell no I'm gonna invite like half of the school."

"Half of the school?! Oh god."

"That's how Louis is girly. This boy is rich." Aasim says. I raise my eyebrow at him. Wow he's rich. Now that I think about it, it actually makes sense.

"Relax guys if she doesn't want to go then she doesn't have to." Minnie said looking at me.

"Minnie that's a decision she has to make on her own." Violet said. I can tell she didn't want them throw this party for me. I can't tell if she's doing this because she's scared I'm going to take her friends or if she's just being a bitch for no reason. You know what I feel like making this girl mad. I guess I'm saying yes.

"You know what guys... let's fucking party!" Everybody at the table cheers at my response. I don't know if this was a good choice or bad one.
