Cheyenne POV
I fluttered my eyes open and stretched, sitting up in bed. It was one of those wonderful stretches that you get, when you first wake up. I looked down to my left to see if Chris was still laying there but that side of my bed was empty.
I shrugged and went to the bathroom to do my hygiene. Once I got out the shower, I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I looked into the foggy mirror and wiped it a little to see my lion hair. I laughed to myself at how silly I looked and I walked out the bathroom.
I walked down the hall and into the kitchen to see Crystal cooking.
"Hey Crystal, you didn't have to do this you know." I said, taking a seat at the table.
The table was already set, there was just food needing to be on the plates.
"Oh, it's cool." She shrugged.
She started putting the pancakes on the plates.
"Why three plates, when there's only two of us eating ?"
"I saw your friend this morning and he told me he was coming back."
I nodded as she started filling the plates up with everything else she cooked. Everything looked so mouthwatering.
She sat down next to me and we both started digging in.
"So what do you want me to do about the gas station? Not that i'm rushing you or anything." I said.
She looked up at me and back at her food. I noticed how she was just playing with it and not really eating it.
"Oh, i'll have one of my friends handle it." She pushed a pile of her curl hair from her face.
"Are you okay Crystal ? You seem kind of down."
"I'm fine."
I gave her this 'seriously' expression, "We both know that's girl code for not okay."
"Okay, I was living and paying bills on my own since I was fifteen. I was only using the money from the boutique that we work at but it's not really a lot for how high the bills have gotten." She slid her plate away from her, "The bills started piling up and I couldn't really pay them anymore so I got evicted. I was sleeping in my car for these past two weeks now and I shower and everything at my old neighbor named Rose house. She's a cute elderly woman."
"Why didn't you tell me this before ?" I asked.
"I don't know. I thought I could've handle it. I didn't really want to be a bargain to you." She shrugged.
I got up and grabbed both our dishes, putting them in the dish washer.
"You're not a bargain Crystal. You're my friend and the only co-worker who actually talks to me." I laughed.
"Right." She laughed, "They never talked to me either. I think they're just jealous that we're bad bitches."
I laughed at how serious she was, "You're right."
I threw my cup in the trash, "You can stay here Crystal. Until you get back on your feet again."
"You sure ?"
"Yeah, I don't mind. I usually stay at my boyfriend house anyways." I shrugged.
"So they dude that was here last night is your boyfriend ?"
"Yep, he's a handful." I laughed.
"He seems cool." She shrugged and walked to the living to lay down on the couch.
