Araceli's POV
Saturday .I walked out the hospital heading in the direction of our house. I sighed into the the silence around me when I heard low rumbles of a car beside me, "Hermosa, shouldn't be walking alone." I heard Oscar's voice.
I rolled my eyes ignoring him continuing to walk knowing it would piss him off. I took a left a block away from the house still hearing Oscar's car following me.
"Araceli!" I heard Ruby, "I'm sorry. Mario told us everything."
"Thank you." I smiled slightly, "She's gonna be fine tell him that. I gotta go." I said remembering that Spooky was in his car.
"Celi, I know you heard me." He yelled out again as I continued walking.
I finally reached my driveway hearing the soft rumbles of his Cadillac stop. I took out my key inserting it to the door.
"Araceli, are you okay?" He came up behind me.
"Am I okay?" I spoke turning to him my voice raising. "I almost lost my sister, and I had to deal with that ALONE. The flashback of my parents dying running through my head ALONE. I had to deal with the whole night ALONE Oscar."
"I'm sorry mami." He tried pulling me close to him.
"I'm not okay," I pushed him away, "And you of all people should've known. Should've came to the hospital to sit with me." I cried finally unlocking the door.
"Celi.." I cut him off slamming the door in his face.
I put my back against the door letting the tears run down my face, and sliding down to the floor.
What would I have down if this is how I had to come home every night. I was alone, and I knew I shouldn't be. I went to my room grabbing a quick go bag, and headed out the front door.
I locked the door behind me looking around, and heading across the street. I walked up the steps to Spooky's door, and softly knocked.
I heard footsteps from behind the door, "Hey Celi." Cesar opened the door slightly.
I looked down at my feet, "Your brother here?" I asked nervously.
"Hold on." He left the door cracked going into the house.
A few moments later it opened again with a bigger silhouette than before, and I saw him nod for me to speak, "I'm sorry." I looked into his warm brown eyes. "I shouldn't have treated you like that."
"You're good." He stated without emotion. "That all."
I looked behind me to my go bag wiping a tear from my face, "Uhh, yeah." I turned around hearing the door close. I looked over to my house, and decided on going back to the hospital.
As I walked I could feel the tears silently falling, "You good ma?" Latrelle's voice rang in my ears.
I wiped my tears looking up at him, "I can't do this anymore. It's too dangerous." I sighed seeing his confused face, "My sister got shot by someone Trelle, and I can't go around with a target on my back with the Santos. Not with who my father was."
"Is there a problem?" A voice all to familiar to my ears came from behind me.
"Nah, was just talking." Latrelle backed away knowing he was on his own.
"I can handle this on my own." I turned walking away.
"Where you going?" He called after me.
