He scoffed as I spoke Carissa's name, "She's nothing to me."

"Didn't seem like it." I scooted away from him, "You know the smile on your face and arm around her waist."

"This right here. Is not my problem." He got up putting the gun back in my lap.

I sighed thinking of how my dad would have handled the situation, and got up putting the gun back in my waistline following him to the car. I got in the backseat laying a crossed the seat, "I just don't know what to do." I softly spoke aloud.

"Not my problem." He spoke again, and I felt weak.

The only one I trusted in this situation is turning his back on me. What was I gonna do about this?

- 2 DAYS LATER -

Monday
7:15 AM

I woke up dreading the fact that I had to go back to school. Dreading the fact that I had to face everything all on my own especially if Latrelle came up to me today. It was only a matter of time before he questioned me.

I got up taking a 20 minute shower before doing my morning routine. After pulling my hair into a high ponytail, I pulled out some of my black leggings, and pulled on a white crop top hoodie.

"Celi, you can take my car." I heard Maya yell across the hall.

"Okay." I replied grabbing my backpack, and slipping on my sneakers heading across to her room. "Okay, I'm leaving." I kissed her forehead grabbing her keys.

I walked out the house locking the door as I heard someone calling my name, "Celi," I turned back seeing Cesar coming across the street, "Hey, do you know what's wrong with Spooky?"

I immediately rolled my eyes at the question, "Not on good terms? I see." He stated.

"Not at all." I looked down at my feet. "I wish I knew, but hey do you want a ride?" I wiggled the keys in the air, and he smiled.

"You know somehow I don't think it's your fault you're on bad terms." He said as we got in the car.

"Actually it kinda is." I told him, and got in. "Hey, don't tell anybody about this." I looked around before taking the gun out of my bag, and putting it in the glove box.

He froze and looked up at me, "Don't worry. I didn't kill anybody." I stifled a laugh at the "joke".

I backed out of the driveway, and headed in the direction of the school. And as we parked Cesar looked at me, "I still don't get why you beat yourself up every time you and Spooky aren't talking. It's not always your fault you know?"

"I know." I looked down at my lap jumping at the sound of a knock on the driver side window.

Cesar's face dropped and anger took over. I looked back seeing Latrelle, "Hey, I got this. Don't tell anybody about this." I told him, "I don't want any trouble. I'll call if I need anything. I'll be safe." I reassured him with a smile.

"Okay." He said getting out the car.

"Get in." I told Latrelle as I rolled the window down starting the car again.

"We need to talk you know?" He gave me a sideways look.

"I thought we did." I continued driving. "About what?"
