"But Haley! He kissed me!" I sighed in frustration and landed on Haleys bed
Haley was currently in her closet, debating on her next outfit.
"Hmm...did you like it?" She asked as she surveyed a deep magenta mini dress
"Uh alittle? I guess?" I admitted, still confused as ever
Once Marcus left me alone and confused in the school parking lot, I drove to Haley's house in a desperate need to talk it out.
"Ooo scandalous." She looked up from the outfit and winked
I picked up one of her plush pillows, chucking it at her, "Shut up." I whined embarrassed
"For a fact, I know he does like you. He has that look in his eyes when he talks to you." She smiled and began to change into the dress
"Yeah...I can see it but Jake came over yesterday and warned me to not associate with him. Like, at all. It felt too Twilight-y." I wrinkled my nose at the cheesy vampire reference
Haley chuckled, "Hows this look?" She had on the magenta mini dress that hugged and complimented her body, a brown leather jacket, and black leather heels with studs on them.
"Perfect Haley." I smiled at her, "But I'm just confused."
"I would be too! I mean two hot boys are basically after you!" she pointed out
"pfft. they're not after me." I reassured her
"ohhhhkay. If you really say so." Haley shrugged
I let out a groan of frustration, "WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE SO DIFFICULT?"
Haley sat down next to me and hugged him, "Since you came, my life has been less difficult all thanks to you."
I hugged her back, "I'll always be here for you Haley. Promise."
"C'mon, let's go to the shop; I'll make you a salted caramel hot chocolate." Haley smiled wide and held out her hand.

I returned home from the shop with Haley, feeling alittle better.
I was about to head inside my house till I heard someone call my name out
"Dani!" Jake yelled from across the street. He jogged towards me. He was wearing a white V Neck and gray sweats that hung low at his waist. He looked cute even when he was practically bumming it.
"Hey!" I smiled as he reached me
"How was detention?" He smirked and sat down on my porch bench
I followed suit and took a sip of my salted caramel hot chocolate.
"It was eh. Could've been better but I'm not at all bothered by it." I shrugged
Jake held out his hand, and I placed my coffee cup in it, watching him take a sip of my drink.
"It's good." He nodded approvingly
"Haley made it." I replied. There was a comfortable silence between us and I spoke again, "Not trying to be rude, but why are you here?" I laughed nervously
He grinned, making my knees feel like jelly, "What? I can't show some hospitality and come over and talk with you for a while?" He teased
I blushed, "Oh sorry."
He laughed out loud, "I was joking... I actually came today to tell you that I broke up with Tara."
I looked at his now serious face, seeing if there was any sign of bluff hidden, "You're joking."
He shook his head, "Nope. All truth here."
I was confused, "Why?"
"Cause she's a bitch." He replied back and he handed me my coffee cup back, which was now empty.
I glared at him, "Thanks."
"No problem." He shot back, flirtatiously
Butterflys began to bubble in my stomach, "How'd she react?"
"Well, she was mad at first and then she said she was better off without me and then bam. That's it." Jake smirked
I rolled my eyes, "Sounds like terror."
"I couldn't handle her wrath." He smiled again
"Well I'm glad you guys aren't together." I said
"So you can have me all to yourself?" He asked, causing my face to flame up
"No. No, I meant because you deserve someone way better." I denied
"Like you?" He was looking directly into my eyes now
I didn't know why he was doing this.
"You're asking questions like you already know the answers to them..." I said softly
He urged closer to my face, "Maybe because that's not the only reason I broke up with Tara."
His breath was on my lips, tickling me.
He placed a hand on my cheek, moving closer.
He placed his lips on mine, making my whole body shiver. I kissed him back and soon, I couldn't get enough of him. I wanted all of him now. His hands were hot on my waist, gripping me closer to him and my hands were tangled in his hair. He broke away, taking a deep breath. He still held me.
"That's what I call a kiss." He smirked
He got up and walked back to his house without a glance back.
I stayed on the bench, confused as to what just happened.
Jake had just kissed me.
And I liked it alot.
