Chapter 8:
I lay in bed, groaning at my alarm clock. The red lights flashed, reminding me that it was another week in high school.
I threw on some Victoria Secret yoga pants and a pink Victoria Secret Angels hoodie. I slipped on some Chestnut Uggs and threw my hair in a bun. I applied some foundation and swept on mascara, making my lashes long and my eyes bigger. I grabbed my books and headed out. I skipped breakfast, ignoring the grumbling noises coming from my stomach. I released my bun, letting my waves cascade down my back.
Just as I was about to get into my car, I heard a honk. I turned around to see Jake in his car.
"Nice ass!" He called out and I flipped him the finger.
He laughed.
"Hop in Dani!" He called out again
I surrendered, heading into the car, feeling that if I had drove to school, I would've passed out at the wheel.
"Why the long face?" He questioned as I sat back in the leather interior.
He placed a hand on my knee, making me tense at his touch. He smirked.
"You look really hot today." He became dangerously close to my face
His breath lingered by my neck and around my lips.
"I couldn't sleep last night." I finally said
"And why is that?" He began placing soft kisses on my neck
"You." I tried to control my breathing as he sucked on my soft spot
"Mmm," He growled, "I get you hot and bothered at night?" he joked
I chuckled, "You wish." He broke away, a smile on his face
We began to drive away, but instead of going to school, we headed towards Dunkin Donuts.
"You need breakfast. I can hear your stomach growling since you got in the car." Jake smiled
"I'm not hungry. Seriously." I lied
My stomach growled louder.
"Damn you tummy." I mumbled at my stomach
Jake smirked and we walked into the Dunkin Donuts.
Jake ordered me a ham egg and cheese on a croissant with a salted caramel hot chocolate. He ordered himself a coffee and sausage egg and cheese.
We walked back to the car and drove off to school as I chowed down on my breakfast.
We went into small talk about grades and teachers, and we were at school.
We parked in front, next to Haley and everyone.
I got out of the car, and everyone stared at me. Jake swung around and placed a hand on my hip.
I looked and saw Marcus' jaw clench and his hands turn to fists. Anger was in his eyes, but so was hurt.
"H-hey guys." I hesitated
"Dani, a word?" Haley hissed, looking genuinely scary and beautiful at the same time. She was wearing the outfit we had planned earlier.
I looked at Jake, then back to Haley, then back to Jake again.
I released myself from Jakes hold, and walked towards Haley, who pulled me away from everyone so it was just her and I.
"W-what's up?" I stuttered
I hated sounding so nervous.
She narrowed her eyes, "Why are you with Jake?"
