▬▬▬▬▬▬ phoebe beckett

There doesn't seem to be anyone around. The song 'I Think We're Alone Now', bounced off the walls of the church and carried its way to the outside gazebo where Phoebe sat alone with her thoughts and the wind for company.

"Room for one more?" She turned her head and saw Grizz by the arch of the gazebo. His loose light brown hair framed the gentle expression on his face and a friendly smile appeared on his lips.

"Well no of course not. I'm clearly occupied with all my friends." Phoebe gestured to the empty space around her.

Grizz shook his head with a laugh. "I've missed your sarcasm." He took a seat on the bench beside Phoebe.

"It sounds pretty wild in there." Phoebe stated, she turned her head and glanced a the wild scene with a trademark stamp of Harry Bingham.

"Not your scene girl-next-door?" Grizz asked before he took a sip of his beer, calling the other their town label.

"Not really." Phoebe sighed and returned her gaze straight forward towards the empty streets and the flickering bulbs of the street lamps. Though she hated to conform to the 'Girl Next Door' stereotype that the town had plastered on her, parties were never her thing. Sure they were fun from time to time but they were never as fun as you think it's going to be.

"This is weird huh." Grizz mused after a moment of silence, his gaze straight on to the quiet night and empty sidewalks.

"Us talking or something else?" Phoebe asked, her eyes moving from the deserted pathways to the unusually blank eyes of the boy that sat beside her.

"Both." Grizz answered and the two laughed. "We haven't talked-- well not properly since..."

"Since Jasper." Phoebe swallowed thickly. Her voice breaking at even the thought of her passed brother. She grabbed the beer from Grizz's hands and took a large sip.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"No, don't worry." Phoebe said as she returned the beer back to the jock and wiped the traces of bear from her lips with the back of her hand.

Grizz accepted back the beer with a small smile. "But this town yeah...weird..."

"Do you think it's got something to do with the writing on the wall?" Phoebe asked.
