Chapter 2
"It took you a half an hour to make that? Really? Ash, I could've done that in record time," Jordan remarks once I enter the room.
"It takes time to make something as delicious as this, you dickhead, so be more appreciative," I scold, only causing him to roll his eyes.
Jordan grabs a fork before stabbing a strawberry and a marshmallow, and popping it into his mouth.
"Not bad," he muffles, "Could use a little more chocolate, though."
I reach for a pillow and hit Jordan in the back of his head with it.
"I would've been here sooner if it weren't for Zach," I grumble as I pop a chocolate covered strawberry into my mouth.
"He was down there? What was he doing?" Jordan asked, curiosity etched onto his voice.
"Nothing, he just came down to bug me since Corbyn zoned him out by texting Lily."
"You guys just talked?"
I nod, picking at a whip cream drenched marshmallow before taking a bite out of it.
"What'd you guys talk about?"
I shrug, "Nothing important enough for me to remember. He did say he likes this one girl, though."
Jordan yells out a "HA" when I tell him what Zach said to me, but I didn't really find it funny.
"When doesn't he like a girl? He sleeps with someone almost every weekend. Surprised he hasn't made a move on me yet," He mumbles the last part, swirling a strawberry in the bowl with his fork.
"That's because he's not gay, Jordan."
"A guy that good looking isn't straight, either," Jordan remarks as I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Have you forgotten that he sleeps with girls almost every weekend?"
Jordan opens his mouth to speak until his phone vibrates and dings, notifying him that he received a text.
Once Jordan checks the contact name of the sender, he rolls his eyes.
"Anna is so fucking annoying, I swear, I'm gonna end up block- oh," Jordan stops mid-sentence before grinning, "For once the wicked witch has something read worthy."
"What is it?"
"Apparently Jennifer Merz is throwing this huge party. Everyone is going. Even Juniors."
I roll my eyes, "Big surprise."
Jennifer was one of the prettiest, semi-sweetest, and one of the considered popular kids at out our high school. She always threw these massive parties at the most random times of the year, meaning every weekend or sometimes just everyday. I never understood, though. Let alone, attended. From what I know, the weekdays ones just wound up being get togethers more than parties.
"You wanna go?"
"I think I'll pass," I say sticking my fork into another strawberry before setting it down into my tongue.
"Okay you can stay here...but you have to give me one valid reason as to why," Jordan starts, "And I swear to god Ash, if you say it's because of your stupid book, I'm gonna chuck it off the Empire State building."
Damn it. Well there goes that option.
"Well, why would we go to a party without Sof?" I ask quickly, mentally applauding myself for being able to come up with a quick response.
"Her flight comes home tonight," Jordan smirks slyly knowing that Sofia being on vacation, would've been my automatic excuse.
"Okay well, my mom is gonna need help unpacking her office things," I shrug, while trying to avoid making eye contact with Jordan.
