Life went by, Me and Ethan got closer. We tried to be together as often as we could, But we were also with our parents. One Day He told me, "I guess we're both grenades," We smiled, and held our hands. We walked, talked, and did all sorts of things. Once, we sat on a bench watching kids swing on monkey bars, swing so high, that their shadow went ove the bar. "Ever wish it could still be like that?" Ethan asked. "Yeah, I guess, Young, Free, Careless..." Our eyes met each other, and we smiled.

"I love you, E" I said, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I love you too, Ariel Marie," He replied. I loved him. I loved him more then anyone could imagine. My lips pressed against his, His smell was so comforting, like I could just fall asleep, right there, in his arms. "Forever," I said. "Forever," He replied. I hugged him. The way home, we held hands. His hands were soft, and made my hand feel like it was wrapped up in a tight blanket. We went to my house. "Hello, Ethan," My mom said, when she saw us walking through the door. "Ma'am," Ethan replied, giving a slight wave. We went to the living room. We sat on the white, leather couch. I laid my feet over his lap. We watched a comedy. Mom invited him for dinner, and he accepted. Mom made Tofu Burgers. "Mmm, This is really good, Mrs. H," Ethan said, while nodding. "Please, Call me Mary," My mom said, looking sincere, yet pretty smug. I smiled. Ethan gobbled up the food in a split second. He had this weird, but cute, satisfied look on his faced. He gave me a wink.

That night, I laid in bed, Thinking. A thought came into my head, "Dad," I got up, and went to mom's room. I knocked once, No response, I knocked again. "Hello? Is that you Ariel?" She asked. "Yeah," I creaked the door open, and saw mom laying on her bed. "What is it, Sweetie?" She asked, The tiredness in her voice was very noticeable. "Is this a bad time?" I asked. "No, No, What do you need?" She asked, setting her glasses down on the bedside table. "What do you know about dad?" I asked. Her eyes widened, surprised. She sighed. "Your dad, as you know, left when you got cancer, he said it was "To much to handle". His name was Ian Bell Hunter, and he was charming. I, Like all of the previous women, fell in love with him. He knew how to make you laugh, even if It was the saddest day. He was my light in the darkness. When I gave birth to you, He said you were his joy, and that you had the cutest little face. But there was some uncertainty in his voice, As of he didn't think you were cute, but he really was pondering whether if this was what he wanted for his life. But you getting cancer was the "Last Straw" for him. He left a bit later, with only a note left behind. It said, "I can't take this anymore, I'm off to live my life," I cried for weeks, but got over it, determined to make your life okay. I went to college, and studied law. I got a good job, so I could support you. And just like that, You became the wonderful woman I see right now." She said, Tear drops filling her eyes. I hugged her. "Anyway, That was in the past," She continues, wiping tears from her eyes. "Thanks Mom," I say.
